About this deal

Line the pie pan with the larger portion of pasta and sprinkle with 1/3 of the almond mixture. Lift the pasta with the tip of a knife so it loose and free form. Do not press the pasta down. Dot the pasta with thin slices of the butter. Then scoop ice cream into your ricer. My ricer is on the large side and I found I got the best noodles when I filled it pretty full. You might want to test your ricer (or Spätzle press) ahead of time. Depending on the size of your ricer, you might need more ice cream than what I suggest in the recipe. For the dough: Sift the flour, sugar and salt onto a clean work surface and make a well in the center. Heat the wine in a saucepan or in the microwave. Pour the oil and 1/4 cup of the wine into the well and incorporate the flour, a little at a time, until dough forms. Add warm water, a little at a time, if the dough feels tough. Knead the dough until smooth. Put into a plastic bag or wrap in plastic wrap

As for the tomato sauce, here are a lot of ready-to-use ‘Filipino style spaghetti sauce’ options I find in local groceries in the Philippines, which are seasoned specially for Filipino spaghetti so they’re already sweetened. I took into consideration that not everyone has access to these, especially outside the Philippines, so this recipe makes use of tomato sauce that’s cooked down with a bit of seasonings but not made specially for Filipino style spaghetti. So I utilise brown sugar and tomato ketchup for this recipe to sweeten the sauce.

Once cooked, you can run the spaghetti over water or simply strain the excess water. I transfer the spaghetti into a large bowl and drizzle some oil into the cooked spaghetti. Mix well to coat. This is to ensure the spaghetti doesn’t still together as it sits.

I like to use white sugar in the strawberry sauce and vanilla sugar in the whipped cream. You can do the same or just use all white sugar or all vanilla sugar. Or use a different sweetener of your choice. I like to use vanilla sugar in my whipped cream but you can use white sugar + vanilla extract, white sugar only, powdered sugar or leave the sugar out all together (add sugar to taste). I often do that if the strawberry sauce is on the sweet side. While it might sound blasphemous to pasta connoisseurs to add sugar and ketchup to a pasta sauce, it’s a beloved dish in the Philippines. Thanks to American colonization in the Philippines in the late 1800s, Filipinos were introduced to a myriad of American products, like hot dogs and ketchup. In a bowl, using a fork, mix the ricotta, sugar, chocolate, candied peel and cinnamon until well combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.The same can be said for mozzarella, which we usually see as savoury but makes a perfect addition to the Middle Eastern dessert kunafa. Pork is savoury until there's candied bacon on our pancakes and french toast is sweet until we have savoury french toast bake. We see pears as sweet but are fine with putting them into a creamy soup with goat cheese and walnuts. We see cheddar as savoury until it’s baked into the layers of an apple tart, adding complexity and depth and a streak of daring. Visit any ice cream parlor in Germany and you’ll find Spaghettieis– spaghetti ice cream – on the menu. And it’s not just for kids!

We’re happy with the idea of sweet rice - rice pudding is so common it's a mainstay of airlines and seniors' residences the world over. But the idea of sweet pasta hasn’t hit the mainstream yet.

WHAT IS FILIPINO SPAGHETTI

First you place a mound of whipped cream on a plate. Then make the ice cream spaghetti noodles by pressing vanilla ice cream through a potato ricer (or a Spätzle press, if you have one of those). Finally, top the noodles with homemade strawberry sauce and a sprinkle of grated white chocolate or coconut flakes. Should I Use Ice Cream or Gelato? Put the the potato ricer (or Spätzle press), ice cream scoop, and serving plates in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before making dessert. Spaghetti alla puttanesca. This is a tangy and salty Italian pasta dish that is mixed with tomatoes, olive oil, capers, olives, and garlic.

If your strawberries are very ripe and sweet, or if you just want a less sweet sauce, you might not need all (or any) of the sugar. If you want it sweeter, add more sugar to taste. If you use lemon juice instead of orange juice, you might need more sugar. Spaghetti Aglio e Olio. This dish is a combination of garlic and tomato which is a traditional Italian pasta dish coming from Naples.Loosely cover with aluminum foil, bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for another 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and the center set. An Authentic Italian spaghetti is made of durum wheat semolina. Other use various kinds of four in making pasta but white flour is the most common. There is a lot of variety of pasta dishes that was based on the concept of spaghetti. Spaghetti is served with some meats or vegetable with tomato sauce.
