About this deal

Just make sure you DON'T buy imitations, you will most likely get ripped off with something that doesn't work or at best have a greatly inferior product.

Chords like F# and Bm are too hard for beginners to play because they’re barre chords. But our capo IS a barre. So we can put the capo on the 2nd fret (it’s doing the job our index finger would do in a barre chord) , and now we can simply play E and Am. You might be confused by all this talk of fretboard radiuses, but you needn't be. Radius refers to the curvature of this vital part of your guitar. Some guitars (like certain vintage Fenders) feature rounded boards, whereas others are near flat. While each has its own benefits, suffice it to say that different fretboard designs represent a compromise in capo design. They really are a tool for all seasons. Understanding how to use a capo enriches your guitar playing so let’s look at how to use a capo in more detail. What is a capo?Upon using the SpiderCapo, veteran guitar players, Peter and Fred found that they were experiencing the guitar with fresh ears, as if playing it for the first time. They called each other daily to share their discoveries of tunings, chords and sounds made possible by the new capo. I don’t like these at all, but they are super cheap , so if you’re on a tight budget, it might be an option. (I’d advise you to avoid them , though.) How to use a capo: Partial capos These are cheaper than trigger capos, but they don’t work as well and are fiddly to put on and take off.

Here at Guitar World, we are experts in our field, with many years of playing and product testing between us. We live and breathe everything guitar related, and we draw on this knowledge and experience of using products in live, recording and rehearsal scenarios when selecting the products for our guides. I can’t sing as high as John Fogerty, so I have to lower the key of ‘Bad Moon Rising’ when I sing it.

Partial capos are fantastic for making the guitar world accessible to people with disabilities. (They make it possible to play chords with one finger and even no fingers.) The Spider Capo probably won’t be able to be fastened 100% tight, but this will ultimately depend on the guitar.

On the handling part it is a bit fiddly compared to a regular capo, but you can adjust it to fit any fingerboard width. Also, the tension on the strings can be gauged, which is good as it limits tuning issues. The spider capo will probably be best suited for acoustic fingerstyle guitarists rather than electric guitar players. We say this for two reasons, firstly, capos in general are more widely used by acoustic guitarists anyway. And secondly because it kind of prevents string bending. What Are The Main Advantages Of Using The Spider Capo? I made this video to show you how to use a capo as clearly as possible. I also highlight some specific capo examples that sound awesome.
