About this deal

having too much of anything can be almost as difficult as having too little” 1875 – 1884, Norway and Germany: Anna Landvik, Jens Halvorsen and Edvard Grieg

You go through a whole gamut of emotions in reading this story, it is so richly built, and vividly described that the characters all feel so very real to you as you are reading of their journeys, although set in very different times everything is weaved together so beautifully that it was just a real pleasure to read, three couples, three love stories, set in three very different times. Also, Cece’s story features Ace and a doomed piece of jewelry. I guess this must have a link to the final unravelling. Ace’s horrible father David Rutter is probably an anagram too, although I can’t find for whom. The style. For me, this has always been a matter of personal preference, but I'm still not warming up to her writing style and I don't think I will. It's all a bit too straightforward and on the nose. I don't like having everything explained to me, so I miss subtlety and nuance in her writing, the 'between the lines' if you will - but that might just be me.

The Seven Sisters books in order

I hope you enjoy getting to know the seven sisters in this series, each of them different and remarkable in their own way. Just like in life, you're bound to identify with a particular sister more than the others, but that's the part of the fun. And some sisters might even surprise you . . . I have received some requests lately through IG (@whoispasalt) on whether I can post a recap on Elle, and who she is. So here we go! If Pa Salt is the man we meet in CeCe and Kitty’s story in Tilbury port in January 1949, then something happened to Elle around this time.

Anna. I liked her characterization, I liked her consistency, I liked that she was neither a wild rebel nor the I-want-romance-but-have-little-personality-beyond-that stereotype (cough-cough, Izabela). She had real flaws and made bad decisions, struggled and held on and remained true to herself. I enjoyed reading her. Lucinda Riley (1965-2021) was the New York Times bestselling author of over twenty novels, including The Orchid House, The Girl on the Cliff, and the Seven Sisters series. Her books sold twenty million copies in thirty-five languages globally. She was born in Ireland and divided her time between England and West Cork with her husband and four children. Lucinda Kate Riley ( née Edmonds; 16 February 1965 – 11 June 2021) [1] [2] was a Northern Irish author of popular historical fiction, formerly an actress and ballet dancer. A final little adjustment to the whole theory: it could also be that Elle/Mrs. Tanit has only been posing as Pa’s lover this entire time, while being his sister in truth. It is said Elle and her brother were separated in Paris when they were kids, which makes this theory plausible. Also, it would give free way to the Elle + Kreeg Eszu theory, making him the father of her mysterious lost child. Lucinda Riley is very good at plotting and crafting interconnecting storylines. That's the reason I started this series at all and in this department, she hasn't let me down.On the other hand: according to the myth, Zeus fancies Taygete in particular but she manages to escape his romantic approaches, while he does succeed in impregnating Maia. Exactly wat happens in the books, with the younger Zed Eszu taking on Zeus’ shenanigans. Pa even states to Electra that the man is dangerous to them. Could it be Zed embodies the god’s naughty side, while his father stands for his more noble deeds? Had a day off to celebrate Christmas with Mr Tanit, which we believe is Pa Salt. He worked in the garden and built a rose arbour just like the one Pa Salt has in his secret garden at Atlantis. Harrison is so good at writing the sibling relationship between the three Widdershins sisters. Their interactions are so believable. There was a lot of good snark, but also so much love and affection between the sisters. Their relationship is definitely the best part of this series in my opinion. If Elle is the love of Pa Salt life, and the woman in the drawing that hung in Pa Salt’s bedroom + the one Georg shows Merry which looks exactly like her, then Elle is Merry’s biological mother.
