About this deal

I had a bit more of a play tonight, here is the Brat shell now sitting properly on its front mounts, the rear would take a small amount of work to get right but nothing too taxing. Probably. Some are bundled with ESCs, some aren't. If it was bundled with an ESC from the factory, it will be the TBLE-02 which is brushless compatible. Some hobby shops put in a different ESC if they are assembling their own bundles, and some ship with no ESC at all.

Some suggested Hop Ups... (note that this kit already comes with the Torque tuned motor and CVA's) I have bearings and the ball diff to go in also. ESC: This is the connection between the radio system and the motor. You have several choices. The standard Tamiya unit is currently unavailable due to the chip shortage, so Tamiya are offering a choice of a Tamiya Hobbywing or Carson Dragster (Tamiya Germany) units. Where a model number is shown (e.g. 20 or 15) that is the motor capacity of the unit - the lower the number, the more powerful a motor you can install later. All work with the motor in the kit. As many of you know from the Nuremberg Show thread, one of the new releases is the DT-03T Aqroshot - a typical Tamiya parts bin offering consisting of the chassis from a Neo Fighter, the shell from a Super Levant, the wheels from a Stadium Blitzer and tyres from a Street Rover. The combination of a long 287mm wheelbase and 4-wheel double wishbone suspension married to CVA oil dampers with long arms at a 25-degree attachment angle,Bank holiday on Monday, so I don’t expect it to arrive until later next week, but here what I have on the way: Length: 425mm, Width: 298mm, Height: 143mm ●Wheelbase: 287mm ●Tread (Front/Rear): 251mm/243mm ●Tire Width/Diameter (Front & Rear): 47/84mm (Front) I have no idea how this will turn out or even if the plan will work. The WT01 has always been a favourite basher of mine, I'd like to recreate the robustness of the WT01 with something a little more precise and well balanced. Despite it being a Bitsa, I rather like it, and hope to add it to my fleet one day. However one thing worries me a bit about it - the wheel/tyre combo consists of tyres that are the same front and rear, on wheels that are wider at the rear than at the front. As you can see in the photo, the rear wheels are wider than the tyres, and the resultant angled sidewalls look a bit odd to my eye.

Thankfully I have a 13.5t sensored set up and a Metal Gear servo w Kimbrough saver spare , so they will make an instant difference. Also, with its choice of only two pinion options, the DT-02 'box is hardly what I'd call flexible in terms of gearing. I would guess this is why the models Tamiya have released on the DT-02/DT-03 platform have all had buggy-diameter wheels/tyres. Building the car was very easy, there are already some topics with a excellent description so I won't write about that again. It is also possible to fit the smaller front wheels with Dirt Hag I tires, but those have a smaller radius so that's a personal choice.Ive really been struggling with a price as it's got more than it's original value in upgrades, spares etc. While driving it on the street and in the park, the rear wheels spin a lot. Which results in a difficult to control car spinning around as soon as you hit the throttle. Of course it is possible to slowly put on the power, but that's not the way it should be. Running on grass is not possible at all.

The offset is essentially 0 as I recall and I should be able to switch the rear hex adapters for the Lunchbox rear adapters without modification. I've been putting this off for awhile but as it's not getting any use these days my Aqroshot is now up for sale. Required for completion; 2 Channel Radio System, 1 Servo, Battery and Charger, Polycarbonate Paint for the Body, Tools for assembly and Glue for the Tyres. The Amarok shell doesn't really work, the wheelbase is good but it's too wide, the wheels won't steer without touching quite a lot... That's all for now. A Monster Racer shell is hopefully inbound in the next couple of weeks, now I think I'll need to wait a bit to recover from the expense, more of which is no doubt to come! I'm using a Futaba S3003 standard servo. It's a decent enough servo but it is decidedly a basic servo. A high torque - metal gear unit would be best. That would make for a great future hop-up for him. The Mad Bull looks like a Grasshopper on steroids, a "Monster Grasshopper". Videos look like it's a lot of fun. I actually really like the combo of low slung centre of gravity and chunky no nonsense tyres, contrasting to the somewhat streamlined body.
