About this deal

Think of this as the Cabana’s resurrection, only this time the shroud left behind was made of baking parchment. A Cabana bar was a chocolate bar made by Rowntree’s, the British confectionary company responsible for treats such as the Kit Kat, Aero, Fruit Pastilles and the old favourite, Toffos. During the 1970s, 'everybody' smoked! If you were a young kid you had to make do with candy cigarettes instead (we called them 'sweet fags' (oh innocent days!!!)) until we were old enough to start smoking properly. I have a ... Long before the Yorkie controversially declared itself off-limits to women, the Texan was the considered the ultimate in manly confectionary. Unfortunately, it remained too much of a best-kept secret and the bar was withdrawn in 1994. Applause

Once a rival to the mighty Mars bar, the Aztec offered a similar mix of chocolate, caramel and nougat. The Wispa brand’s answer to the Aero Mint was discontinued in 2003 alongside the equally tasty caramel and biscuit Bite. Banjo Often a favourite for swimming bath vending machines, Cadbury's Bar Six was a creamy chocolate bar with a wafer centre and hazelnut cream, they were very similar to a Chunky Kit-Kat. Bar Six had an orange wrapper and was wrapped ... Heat the oven to 180°C / Gas 4. Spread the desiccated coconut evenly on a clean baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes until lightly toasted. The tasty milk chocolate bar was wrapped in a blue wrapper with ‘Cabana’ written in a sunset orange across the front. The Cabana Chocolate Bar TV Advert

It would live again! The next day, cut the coconut into bars about 8cm by 3cm, press dried cherries all the way along the top, and set them on a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Freeze for a couple of hours to allow them to firm up. Chelsea Whoppers were a kind of chocolate sweet or, as was common in the 1970's, 'chocolate flavoured' (like Wagon Wheels). They came in a bandolier of around 10 at a time and I think they cost 1p each. They tasted ... There isn’t really a great alternative that tastes anywhere near like a Cabana. But, I have been told that eating a Bounty bar with the delicious coconut filling and chewing some chopped-up glacé cherries is pretty much the next best thing. The Mars Delight, perceived as a lighter version of the traditional Mars Bar, spent four years on the shelves but was discontinued in 2008.

These were made by squirell I think and were hard tiny little red smiley shaped gums which you could buy from the jar - in Lbs and 2oz!They had a slight scented taste kind of perfumed cherry. They were my ...
