Warner Bros. Fantastic Beasts 4 potential release date: When will Fantastic Beasts 4 and 5 be released? By moving the series more into Potter lore with the arrival of Dumbledore, Fantastic Beasts has lost the selling point of the first movie. If Rowling conjured up a unique story that focused on Newt Scamander and the adorable beasts, maybe things could have been different for the spin-off series. We know less about what happens with Newt and the other Fantastic Beasts characters during that period. So when it comes to them, they could be doing anything in the fourth and fifth movies, should they happen.

This changed a bit when the second movie came around, Crimes of Grindelwald made a clear shift on the story and started to force itself in the "Harry Potter" timeline by navigating through the past of some of the beloved characters present in the original movies.

In the finale, Dumbledore and Grindelwald's blood pact is broken after Grindelwald tries to kill Credence for betraying him. Dumbledore protects Credence without thinking of Grindelwald, and their "spells met" which broke the pact. This is obviously a more direct comparison because it’s the next film," Mikkelsen explained. "So we have done a few bridges that will allow us to recognize it, but we’ve also said we have to make it our own. I have been a fan of Johnny Depp since I saw him as a young man, and to try to bring his intensity and his way of doing it into my work is a no-go. I have to find my own, because his is unique, and I just have to let that be, and find a different path." Rowling has said that the movies will cover 19 years of Wizarding World history. That will take the last one up to 1945, the year that Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald and claimed the Elder Wand from him. Will we see the next two movies in the series as originally planned? Your guess is as good as ours, but as of September 2022, there has been no definitive word about the future of the series. The first trailer, which merely teases the wizarding war, is basically the Ocean's Eleven trailer, as the good wizards are building a team to fight the battle. We also see a lot of monsters, and an awkward crab-walk. Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore cast We had originally assumed the fourth and fifth movies would arrive in November 2022 and November 2024, following the first two movies being released in November 2016 and November 2018.Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore had a lot riding on it after the relatively lukewarm reception given to The Crimes of Grindelwald. As we mentioned before, perhaps Warner Bros was protecting itself against this with the way The Secrets of Dumbledore plays out. By the end of the threequel, Grindelwald has been exposed (again), Queenie and Jacob get married and Newt reunites with Tina Goldstein. There's a chance the movie could rebound on its home release enough to persuade Warner Bros that, maybe, one final movie could be worthwhile. Neither of the planned fourth or fifth movies has been written, so it's not out of the question that the events could be squished into one movie. Unlike The Crimes of Grindelwald, The Secrets of Dumbledore doesn't end with a cliffhanger and pretty much wraps up the major plot points. Jude Law also stars as a younger Albus Dumbledore, who was played by Richard Harris and Michael Gambon in the Harry Potter movies. Law's version is a professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
