About this deal

Presets are easily edited with the knobs on the face of the amp, and then saved with the Save button on top. Last but not least, you can plug a recording device like an audio interface to the USB port to record the best moments of your performance and practice sessions. Note: the Fender Mustang II is the same as the Fender Mustang I but with a 40w output instead off 20w and a 12 inch speaker as opposed to an 8 inch. The sound quality is well above its price point. When you’ve heard enough affordable amps, you’ll notice how the sounds are mostly cheap and muddy.

This could be confusing or even overwhelming for a beginner, and maybe even a bit too much for a more experienced player. However the wide array of amp models are sure to keep you busy for hours experimenting with different amps, effects, and pedals. The Mustang also offers incredible Fender tones like the Fender Twins and its great for intermediate musicians driven to the world of digital recording. Additionally, players looking for the type of sounds Fender commonly delivers will find the Mustang an attractive option. Despite having sturdy quality, the amp doesn’t feel too heavy. Rather it feels quite well made. The amp is smaller in size, therefore, easy to move around. Also, there is less chance of serious damage in the case of dropping it. The USB cable adds to the flexibility. Overall, it is quite a reliable model in terms of quality.Fender FUSE is not hard to use (it provides an excellent visual simulation of your sound rig), but if you’re not comfortable with computers it’s probably not a big selling point. But for those who welcome modern technological tools, FUSE is a huge plus. With it, you can tweak just about every aspect of the Mustang. Alternatively, you can go for the coveted Boss Katana. The Katana is very similar to the mustang as it’s also a solid-state modeling amp offering its own editing software.

In addition to the 17 amps, there are 44 available effects split into four categories. The categories are: Stompbox (typical pedal style effects such as overdrive, distortion, compressors and wahs), Modulation (such as chorus, flanger, tremolo, pitch shifter and filters), Delay (a few different types of delay such as ping-pong, tape, reverse, stereo) and Reverb (small hall, large hall, plate, ambient, spring). The Stompbox effects are only accessible through the Fender FUSE software so if you don’t connect your amp to your PC/Mac, you will only be able to adjust the other three categories of effects. Fender has integrated solid-state technologies across its entire product line. One of their most popular solid-state amps is the compact Mustang I V.2, which is a top choice on the practice amp market. Perfect for guitarists who play a wide variety of genres, the amp can go from crunchy overdrive to heavily distorted with ease. So, while you can swap the different models on the go, you’d need to edit the presets with the Fender Fuse software to further add effects.Growing up in rural Australia, there wasn't much to do but play guitar and stare at the red dirt. When things broke, the only person to fix them was fifty miles away, and eventually fixing gave way to building, giving me my career as a luthier. I wouldn't have it any other way. Just from the name Fender, you know you will be getting a quality product. Moreover, the Mustang I V2 amp has a pretty good reputation in the guitarist community as a solid choice for home practice and gigs. Digital technologies have allowed some major improvements regarding what solid-state guitar amplifiers can provide. The old adage saying “tube amps are always better” might no longer be true.
