Wow, it took me so much time to get around Grip because I knew it was going to be a very emotional ride and I needed to have a few strong hairs in me hahah not to cry that much but wow this book is just breathtaking.. so many emotions through the whole story... The way Kennedy take us in this ride full of love, and raw emotions, is just beautiful... thank you for raising such a magnificent man. He is the man of my dreams. When I thought of my husband, I didn’t dream in color, I dreamt in character." In Still, Grip and Bristol go through so many sensitive but powerful experiences that will leave you, with many things to think about and reflect.. but the most important message I got from Still was..... Kennedy Ryan always knew that she was going to grow up to tell stories, as many writers often do. The road to that being fulfilled has been one that she paved with the help or random jobs. The jobs would help her to support her family, keep them eating, and keep a roof over their heads and a house for them to live in.

I was definitely wooed by Grip and his delicious chocolate charm. Marlon aka Grip isn't all about being a famous hip hop star. No, he has so much story hidden behind those good looks of his. A voice to be heard because he has plenty to say. Not just through his lyrics but also in general. A very strong opinion and a talent beyond words. He's also a good man who's been raised right by his mother in a tough environment in Compton. When he finally gains success he never forgets where he's from or the people that matter the most to him. Grip, is a good friend of Bristols brother, Rhyson. he happens to be the one to meet her up at the airport, a meeting that will change the life of them forever.. he didn't expect to see her, he didn't expect to have feelings for her, not the little sister of his best friend. Grip has dreams, he is an aspiring rapper artist. He likes to recite poetry, poetry that will keep Bristol and all of us swooning. All across the USA, people are showing up dead. The deaths don't appear to be connected in any way until one particular death occurs and gets the Secretary of Defense's attention. He arranges for a task force to investigate. She attended the University of North Carolina, located at Chapel Hill, and will forever be a Tar Heel. She graduated with her journalism degree and it was full steam ahead. She has since focused on doing writing for organizations that are not for profit. She has also dabbled in some ghost writing of the nonfiction variety. In the most recent years she began telling stories once more and working in fiction.

Grip is a journey, one of the hardest I've ever survived HOWEVER thanks to this author and these books author I believed - I CAN DO EVERYTHING!!!! Flow is my second book by Kennedy Ryan and I'm glad I've started this Series! This introduction to Bristol and Grip's (Marlon James) meeting and attraction is beautiful and I'm anxious to start the next book...Grip!!! Grip is the typical boy who comes from the wrong side of the neighborhood but his mamma kept him away from the wrong side... Grips is a fighter he is trying to make something of himself.. he has a very deep soul, he is persistent, a very talented hip hop artist trying to make his way in the music industry Bristol works as his Manager making their relationship a lot of harder...

Don't let me keep telling you about it and GO grab your copy of GRIP and I garantee you that you will love it as much as I do and will be in a MAYOR BOOK HANGOVER when you finish. The story of Grip and Bristol continues and this time we get to see so much more about their struggles and beautiful moments.

How do I start this review and do justice to this incredible book. This was my first book from Kennedy Ryan and definitely wont be my last. It's a real romance with actual and still present issues. It presents the struggles of interracial couples, the divide by the color of skin and social class. The writing is literally "POETRY" and I hope it will evoke in you all the amount of incredible feelings that took and twisted my heart. Grip has all that you as a contemporary romance reader would love in a book. You will not want to put this book down and it will takes you months to get over the hangover. Life lessons will be impart and stay with you to help you be a better person. It would make your heart pound in crescendo, your hands sweat, your nails may be non-existent, your undies will definitely get soaked and even your kindle may suffer from a trow to the wall jajajaj.AND-- Although she exasperated me a little from time to time, I ended up IN LOVE with Bristol!!!! I totally understood her once "It" came to light. I was like "Omg...Yes, that makes sense. I get it" #girlpower #strongwoman #loyal Add Grip Trilogy Box Set to Goodreads: https://bit.ly/2EK9XAa Win a Limited Edition Grip Trilogy Box Set! One of many things Kennedy Ryan succeeds with in Grip and also Flow are her choice of topics and how she weaves them into Grip and Bristol's story. Especially music and race plays a huge and important role. It gives the story an edge but most importantly it also gives more depth to the characters. Not just to Grip and Bristol but also to the secondary characters. Grip is an extraordinary story with a powerful message which has to be experienced. Bristol and Grip's connection is why I love reading romance novels. Their game of cat and mouse that they play keeps the story fun. Their sexiness is through the roof. Their willingness to defy all odds and be together is so dreamy, so impactful, because in doing that they're each sacrificing a bit of themselves.

I loved how this author broke down the different dynamics of Bristol and Grip's past and formed it into something worth waiting for. It was built up into something so monumental. The struggles that they have as colleagues, friends, then lovers is something that we don't see much in romance books. How this author interweaves points on racism and class wars into such a beautiful love story is brilliant. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen: Audiobook Review & Go Behind the Scenes with Narrator Rosamund PikeThe acclaimed Grip Trilogy has been bundled into a box set for the first time, and the whole series has new covers! Still is an endearing love story of two people, who know what unconditional love is. That no matter what life throws at them they'll face it together. The romance part of this book is amazing too!! I love the longing and pining from the hero side. On the other hand, I get heroine hesitancy and issues with opening up and being vulnerable. I am not big on stories with a political message as I read for personal gratification and escapism.
