Maltesers - also known as Whoppers. These chocolate covered crunchy malted milk balls are popular in Australia. Tin size: For this recipe, I used an 8 inch square cake tin which produced 16 chunky squares of Malteser Tiffin. For more bite sized pieces you could use a 9inch square tin or traybake that is not so deep. Step 1: Melt the butter and chocolate in a large heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water until all the butter and chocolate are melted. Take off the heat and leave to cool a little. In a large bowl, melt the dark chocolate, condensed milk, butter and syrup in the microwave, then stir in the crushed digestives, crushed maltesers and whole maltesers. Spoon into the tin and level off. Place in the fridge whilst you make the topping. Chunks of your favourite Malteser chocolate is filled with tiny balls of Malteser honeycomb, giving every mouthful a sweet, malty crunch.
