In Splatoon 2, while the Inkling Boy and Inkling Boy 2 amiibo share the same dialogue and features, the game differentiates between them. The rewards given by the original Inkling Boy amiibo are as follows: The Smallfry has the default hairstyle and is depicted leaping out of turquoise ink, surrounded by two Power Eggs. Smallfry is the first amiibo that isn't an Inkling or Octoling, and honestly, it would be great to see more figures for side characters like the shopkeepers or Judd. The little fellow is essential for clearing Splatoon 3's campaign, and if you befriend his amiibo figure, then you can end up with an outfit that makes you look like you belong in the next Mad Max movie. The Inkling Squid amiibo allows players to complete specific Octo Valley missions in two ways: some can be completed as a Kraken with limited time, and others must be completed with limited ink. In the Kraken challenges, the player is given the ability to turn into a Kraken instead of a squid for the entirety of the level. In limited ink challenges, the player is given three or four full ink tanks to complete the level, but the ink cannot be replenished. The challenges are as follows: The Octo Expansion reveals that Ebb & Flow was Off the Hook's first song and has three reiterations of it in the Expansion.

In Splatoon 2, the Octoling amiibo speak with many grammatical errors and unusual phrases in their dialogue (most notably the Octoling Octopus). This is likely due to the Octarians not speaking Inkling often. In Splatoon 3, this is not the case and the Octoling amiibo speak in a more normal manner. Once you start looking into the lore of the Splatoon series, it doesn't take long to realize that it takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. One of the newest amiibo outfits in Splatoon 3 finally gives you the look of someone who has survived a wave of catastrophic events and lived to tell the tale. When the Smallfry amiibo is scanned in the amiibo box, instead of talking to the player like most amiibo, an unknown narrator helps communicate with the Smallfry. dario64 If you only get one piece of gear from the amiibo, I think you have to save a setup of gear & weapons to the ammibo. After that, if you scan the amiibo, I believe they will give you the rest of the gear. Not sure if this was anyone else’s experience, but after my son scanned them for his save file, I couldn’t get the free gear on my save file. Only one user per system, maybe? Did this happen to anyone else?
During the Splatoon 3 Direct on 10 August 2022, a new set of amiibo were announced, although, unlike other opening waves, these were not available at launch. The Inkling (Yellow), Octoling (Blue), and Smallfry amiibo were eventually released on 11 November 2022. Like Hyrule Warriors, amiibo from the Splatoon franchise can be scanned in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild once a day to earn items, such as fish, flowers, and more. I've gotten more then one piece of armor in a day. It wouldn't give me the second piece till I played a couple matches and upped my freshness. To scan your amiibos, you just need to approach the huge amiibo box in Splatsville. From there you’ll get prompted to put the amiibo on the NFC reader.

Pearl and Marina's songs are a mix of the Octoling language and Inkling language. Though it is a common misconception that Off the Hooks songs have English mixed in, that is false as seen in the official lyrics released with the Splatune 2 and Octotune CD's.Kirby: Planet Robobot includes an amiibo feature that grants Kirby a copy ability depending on the character. The Inkling Boy, Girl, and Squid all grant access to the Poison ability for Kirby.
