About this deal

I love these characters, and the fact that we learn a lot more about them in the course of the book. Am I allowed to admit that as I was reading I was hearing Penelope Keith's voice as Elizabeth?

I don't think any threads were left untied, and I'm pleased to say our four heroes are more or less intact to fight another day! They are clever, funny, and loyal. Osman’s books are smart, clever (no, those are decidedly NOT the same thing), fun, and oddly uplifting. Don’t believe this last? Read this book, and then ask yourself if you don’t have a greater fondness for men named Ibrahim and Bogdan than you did before. And women named Joyce. I won’t mention Elizabeth, because she doesn’t need the help. There's a lot going on, but all of the varying plot-lines blended together perfectly. Osman made it comfortable to read and engaging throughout. There are grenades somewhere. For the life of him he can’t remember where they are buried, but he knows they are in a safe location, and he has written it down somewhere. Under the Venetian gazebo? On reflection, he can’t even remember whose grenades they were, or why he had agreed to bury them, but that comes with age.” Osman follows The Thursday Murder Club, his supremely entertaining debut, with an even better second installment. . .A clever, funny mystery peopled with captivating characters that enhance the story at every quirky turn.” Jo Wimpenny, a zoologist, questions whether there is any scientific reasoning behind Aesop’s depictions of animals in his collected morality tales. Her canvas is wide-ranging, incorporating personal reflections and research. In one chapter, The Dog and Its Shadow, she sweeps from Darwin to modern neuroscience by way of her own childhood desire to be a canine. Engaging and comprehensive, this is highly readable popular science. Breathtaking The narrative is split between all the characters mentioned above, but Joyce and Elizabeth play the largest roles, followed by Ibrahim, who is the victim of an awful crime. I would like more of Ron and Bogdan in the next book.

I fell in love with the characters, the retirement community setting and the compelling mystery that played out. Everything is about death, you see.’ ‘Well, recently, yes,’ agrees Joyce. ‘But surely not everything? That seems a bit much?’ ‘In essence,’ says Ibrahim. ‘Our existence only makes sense because of it; it provides meaning to our narrative. Our direction of travel is always towards it. Our behaviour is either because we fear it, or because we choose to deny it. We could drive past this spot once a year, every year, and neither the horse nor ourselves would get younger. Everything is death.”Meanwhile, Elizabeth has a plan regarding Ryan and asks her friend Bogdan to acquire come cocaine. Bogdan does it and hands it off to Ron. Ron then goes to Ryan’s house, pretending to be a plumber sent by the housing association. He plants the cocaine and Ibrahim’s credit card in Ryan’s toilet and then “anonymously” calls Donna and Chris. Ryan Baird is arrested. When things turn deadly, Elizabeth calls the troops to action, and naturally, they are eager to help… especially if they can find those diamonds as a bonus to solving a murder! The Man Who Died Twice (Thursday Murder Club #2), released in September 2021, is the second novel in Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club cozy mystery series. The series follows a group of retirees as they come across murder and mayhem. The first novel was a pretty big hit in the UK, and I really enjoyed it. Jones, Alice (16 September 2021). "Richard Osman on The Man Who Died Twice: 'Celebrity novelist is the worst phrase in the English language' ". The i. Archived from the original on 16 September 2021 . Retrieved 11 October 2021. As i venture into this amazing series i am getting to love this series more & more The characters development is better & the plotlines even crazier, this time the craziness continues with Elizabeth a m15 special ops with Joyce her follower doing everything she can to solve two murders
