The other "modern" aspect is probably not quite as felicitous, with Kevin Costner coming off as a kind of "surfer dude" Robin at times. Still, the film

Watson found themselves in something of a race to get their adaptation off the ground first. There was evidently at least some chaos and Who cares if the only way the house is going to be warm this Winter will be the heat coming off the amp, who cares ?

Not to be outdone, our friends down under at Via Vision Entertainment have unveiled their Imprint Films slate for November as well, each all-region Blu-ray titles... It starts with Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street on 11/17 in both Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD (a UK only title, but it’s already been released here in the States on both formats by Paramount). Also coming that day are Quentin Dupieux’s Incredible But True (2022) and Robert Wise’s Audrey Rose (1977), each on Blu-ray only. The former is a UK only title, while the latter will be released in the US, UK, and Canada. highly variable grain structure that is already evident in the 1080 version is only more pronounced here, and some of the yellow chunkiness also For every movie fan there are probably several films they can count as milestones, movies that became big parts of our viewing, even of our lives. Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was one of those for me. It came out at the perfect time, when I was 10. The screenplay had simple heroism, the villain was an obvious baddie you could boo and hiss at if the mood took you, there was plenty of action and even as a cut PG, it stretched the edges of its certification to a point that was an intense and sometimes scary experience for a relatively young kid. I loved it. Along with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves became one of my first favourite movies. It was one of the reasons we first got a TV for the house, and a VCR to go with it, and it became a tape that was in heavy rotation. We don’t always age with the movies we loved as kids, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is, to some degree, one of those cases for me. That said, in many ways, this film as as much fun to watch as it ever was. Co-Writer Pen Densham says that his original idea for the film was “Robin Hood a la Raiders”, and while it’s not THAT good, you can very much see that basic idea running though the film, as Kevin Costner’s Robin goes through an escalating series of action and adventure set pieces that punctuate the film. Beginning with the darkness, both visual and thematic, of Robin’s escape from a prison during the crusades, where his life is saved by a former enemy, Azeem (Morgan Freeman) is a bold choice that marks this out from the bright technicolor of the Robins of Errol Flynn and Disney and starts the film off on an exciting note.

also continuing on in any number of production design elements ranging from costumes to props to some of the impressive sets. The same rather Prince of Thieves is presented as a 3840x2160/24p BT.2020 image in the film's theatrical aspect ratio of widescreen 1.85:1, using a Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range (HDR10 and Dolby Vision), and is encoded using the HEVC (H.265) codec. This is an incredible looking steelbook. From the box art to the steelbook itself. I'm happy Arrow and Zavvi went with so many different alternatives.Be interested to hear about picture quality on this, have the bluray ultimate edition and that is way too grainy for my liking. Another major feather in this film’s cap is the music. Not only did this film deliver a tie in number one hit, with Bryan Adams’s ‘ Everything I do, I do it for you’, but the late (and always great) Michael Kaman delivered a rousing and emotional score that is still listened to by this reviewer to this day. What cinematic (or television) version of this venerable tale is your favorite Robin Hood? As an archival featurette hosted by Pierce Brosnan
