About this deal

Noyce predicts that the secret history of Aboriginal dispossession will now become fertile ground for future Australian film-makers: "If drama comes from conflict, there's no greater conflict in Australian history than the conflict between indigenous Australians and white settlers." I’m not sure about this book. I thought the concept of the book was really good and the synopsis intrigued me.

Beth, the middle child, suffered the most. Nevertheless, she still stayed with her mother until her final moments. But now that she’s gone, Beth must face her troubled past. I’ve not spoken to my husband in 3 days as this was far more important. As always, this lived up to all expectations… It’s all there. And perfect. Clear your diary. Just sit and enjoy’. Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’d recommend this book to everyone. It’s a good read on its own and gives a good insight into something that many people today don’t know about the war. The book does mention the holocaust and some of what happened to people there, but it’s not overly descriptive or too disturbing to read and there is nothing really offensive in the book, apart from some characters saying derogatory slurs at others, although this shows what was happening at the time. Overall an amazing book that I’d recommend, and one I’ll be reading again! Going up against a deranged killer who is seemingly aware of all her weakness, Detective Kim needs to proceed with caution, given how every move could be lethal.I'm very emotional after the film has been screened," says Pilkington. "I don't go in and sit through it now because I get so upset. But it's a story for the stolen generations as a whole," she says. "Any person who was a member of the stolen generations owns this story." Hours before, Steven Harte had walked into Halesowen police station and confessed to having information that would lead Kim to Melody. And he told Kim she’d have a more urgent problem to deal with first. Now Kim must play Steven’s twisted game if she’s to find Grace alive. The line is a reference to the thousands of part-Aboriginal children who were forcibly separated from their families and assimilated into white society during the 20th century. Aboriginal activists have been pressing the government for years to apologise, but Abetz turned the issue on its head by demanding that the film-makers apologise to the government. "They're asking me to apologise for the poster?" asked Noyce. "Maybe they could apologise to our indigenous citizens." The plot in this book is quite breathtaking and will have you on the edge of your seat. This is a crime fiction but with a mix of psychological thriller. In this thriller Detective Kim Stone is not just a cardboard cutout cop, she is different due to her great work ethic. More of her character is revealed in this book as she goes head-to-head with this sociopath. This character grows exceptionally as the story progresses in this series.

Then Kim uncovers a tiny, vital clue in Helen’s bedroom that throws the investigation wide open. Could someone else have killed the Daynes family?Paired with the equally troubled Detective Travis, D.I Kim Stone discovers a sinister relationship between the families who own the land which has now become a crime scene. But Abetz was not so much concerned about the film's domestic release as its reception overseas. In particular, he took umbrage at the poster Miramax had selected for use in the US. Against a forbidding, deserted landscape, its tagline read: "What if the government kidnapped your daughter? It happened every week in Australia from 1905 to 1971." This is a follow up to Silent Scream. This is a book that makes for fantastic reading and clearly shows Angela’s mastery in crime stories. This story revolves around the mutilation in the brutal murder of a rapist. Eventually more killings come to light calling for more investigation because someone more sinister is at work. The investigations soon gain momentum and Kim finds herself endangered at the center of a lethal individual doing their own twisted experiment. This is basically a sociopath who knows Kim’s every weakness endangering every move Kim makes. Soon body count mounts and investigations intensify. That sort of thing really angered me," says Pilkington, who also goes by her Aboriginal name of Nugi Garimara. "You find these people going through my book and deliberately misquoting it to support their views. It makes me really annoyed." When the two women cross paths during an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, it marks the beginning of an improbable friendship.
