About this deal

But Mason clearly isn’t going to let me read in peace. “Have you tried the Wi-Fi? I can’t get past terms and conditions.” Liv's POV on her relationship with Ransom felt so real. My girl was in shambles the entire time and down so bad for this man. She holds herself with such poise and strength but as soon as she reunites with him again it's game over. There were some parts in the early chapters that felt over-descriptive (a play-by-play of Liv's every move isn't really necessary), but either it got better or I stopped noticing. The gossip articles sprinkled in between chapters was a fun and insightful touch. But who is in the cast, where was the series filmed and how many episodes are there? Here's everything you need to know. The Reunion cast Guillaume Musso, one of the top three bestselling authors in France for years, is finally getting translated into English with The Reunion. It is his fifteenth thriller in French and was recently made into a TV miniseries.

Martin and Peggy were absolutely delightful parents! They were fun loving and quite the jokers. I was rolling with some of the things they'd say, and Martin's coloring was good stuff. So Thomas goes into the reunion certain that in a few week's time his life as he knows it will be over. In The Reunion by Guillaume Musso, a glamorous prep school girl goes missing after a love affair with a teacher in this irresistible thriller from one of France’s bestselling novelists… How well do you really know Austin?” Mason asks her for what is clearly not the first time, judging by the expression on Mom’s face. The far-fetched story -- and its many incredible twists, one after the other -- is hard to believe, but at least reasonably entertainingly knotted and layered and then explained.THE REUNION has SIX main characters who all are given their own POV - I thought I would really struggle with this, but in actual fact, it made the reading experience so much better. I really felt like I was able to connect with every single one of them and loved seeing things happen from the different perspectives. The kids -- Thomas and his buddy Maxime, as well as Fanny, turn out to only be privvy to a slice of the information -- what they were involved with -- and extrapolate far too easily from this. Ford always finds himself too busy running the company that his parents built and spends most of his time with his assistant. Cooper finds himself distracted with the baker who happens to be an old fling he has never forgotten. And then there’s Palmer, lost in what to do with her life and looking for her future which might include an old crush who is now a sexy doctor.

I kept hearing about The Reunion on #bookstagram and had major FOMO! I absolutely loved Polly Phillips My Best Friends Murder and I just had to read it. I found the audiobook on Scribd and binged it in a day. Totally addictive and juicy, I just had to know how it was all going to end up. Still, Musso is working at least in part close to home -- including with the setting, where he and his protagonist grew up, on the Côte d'Azur. For a book to be recommended for fans of Sally Thorne and to be inspired by the Emily Wibberley’s writing, I’m sorry to say it was a bit of a let down.Soon we’re stepping through wide glass doors and into the bright midday sun. I slip on my shades and run one hand through my short brown hair, glad I remembered to get it cut before this trip. It could be worse—in December, the highs here top out in the mid-eighties—but I’m not built for the heat. My pasty skin burns no matter what SPF I apply, and I’m not the world’s strongest swimmer. I’m not afraid of the water; hanging out in the shallow end of a pool is fine, and I can wade out in a lake to fish, but the ocean is not my friend. Even in salt water, somehow I sink. DNF @ 39%: I was really hoping to love this one, but I struggled *hard* to connect with anything that was happening. Not risking a reading slump to finish a book I'm just not enjoying. Oh well! You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation. Of course, Thomas makes his way straight to France, where he remembers the group’s carefree summers in the 1990s, spent swimming, zipping around on scooters, pushing office chairs down student hall corridors, drunkenly arguing about philosophy and, oh, sort of accidentally killing people. I have sat through enough thrillers on ITV to know my way around murder-mystery hokum, and for a while, this feels like a rough episode of Unforgotten, with no offence to Unforgotten, which does this sort of thing brilliantly. The thriller puzzle pieces are all familiar. Here, as often happens in these kinds of series, a skeleton that was supposed to be covered in concrete for the rest of time is about to be discovered, a group of old friends have maintained a pact of secrecy that is suddenly stretched by unforeseen events, there are philandering husbands, mistaken identities and pillars of the community just waiting to be torn down.

This is a fantastic, fast flowing story of revenge, secrets and lies. I was hooked from the first few chapters. Written in the first person and set over two timelines of then and now, it’s a very gripping and intriguing tale. I loved hearing of Emily’s time at Cambridge, the descriptions of the university and town were so evocative and the difference between her and the wealthier students was so evident that I really felt for her, she seemed like a small fish in a big pond. Now US-based, Thomas decides to attend the 25th reunion of his old high school (which is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, as well), the elite Lycée International Saint-Exupéry -- "the pinnacle of academic institutions in Alpes-Maritimes".

But he remains coy about what exactly the problem is, and what that misstep from a quarter century ago was, only slowly dosing out the information he has -- to which are added, in rapid succession, stunning odds and ends that surface as he starts digging around -- some of which make what he was involved with begin to look like small potatoes ..... Who doesn’t love a good revenge drama with manic characters, a creepy, eerie atmosphere and a cleverly arranged plot……..Mom only has an inch or two on me; “hon” is definitely directed at Mason, who towers over both of us. I loved how Phillips included an older sister for Emily. Her sister, Helen, was her biggest supporter, always encouraging and concerned about Emily but never judging her. Emily’s sister, Helen, is my new hero. I adored the cast. The romance was fine, sometimes I was skeptical and sometimes I was onboard. Liv had such a great team and support system ("everyone needs a Bre in their corner", hell yes). However, I also felt like there were some loose ends and would have loved to hear more from everyone else. Like, what happened to Ford? Emily is clearly a distressed and unfulfilled woman and yet as we learn more about her it appears that she used to be confident and popular. This book has absolutely zero depth or nuance. It tries, and fails miserably. There is nothing here to hold onto, no characters to root for, just a bunch of two-dimensional people playing even more two-dimensional people on TV.
