About this deal

The men sitting around the sofa participated in the conversation actively about the bride who was yet to show up. She took a warm bath. Thereafter, she wrapped herself in a towel. She used another towel to dry her hair. When she came out of the bathroom, she saw Charles sitting in the room with a straight face. Both the lead Characters were every well portrayed and loved! I admire the way Noel brought in 'feminism' and showed that even men in that ere where capable of regarding woman as equal and not be judged harshly simply because of their gender. Wendy had never been so nice to Autumn. This time she would do anything for her in exchange of selling her to Charles. Years later, when Autumn remembered this moment, she sighed for the unpredictable fate. This wedding which put her into despair then happened to give her the strongest protection later in life. Those things that she never thought would happen just happened. Never one for society, but with a good education, at twenty three, she decides she can become a governess.

The Substitute Bride: A historical romance with a spirited

Having spent a childhood summer with Viscount Giles Weston, Angelica Wayne has never forgotten his kindness. I almost never read historical romances, but since I absolutely enjoyed student-teacher books by this author I decided to give it a shot. Needless to say, I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Gervase was such a deliciously alpha H. He was a suave, older man who didn't really consider marriage. But due to circumstances he ends up with Lily and is more than pleased. When Lily secretly takes her cousin’s place in an arranged marriage, little does she realise the desire, or the dangers, that await her. She knew that since the moment she promised to be the substitute, her old life was behind her and her future was filled with uncertainties.Brian, why don't you introduce your new bride to us?" a follower of Brian asked with others agreeing. Now this was close to being a 5 star read but I was getting annoyed with Lily for not coming clean sooner. I found she had so many opportunities but in the end it just blew up in her face. The Substitute Bride by Janet Dean is a sweet book about a marriage of convenience, the effect of secrets on a relationship, and the ability for personal change. This is the first book I have read by this author and I understand her first historical. I look forward to more by her and hope to see Betsy's story soon! Brian still wore his usual stony expression. Taking a drag of his cigarette, he said, "Keep a close eye on Clayton Woodsen. I will make his life a living hell!"

She is actually the product of her father’s infidelity. Even though the Whites claimed her as their own daughter, everyone knew the truth. At first, everyone treated her nicely, but when her grandfather died, all of them changed their attitude toward her. The door opened suddenly and two strangers entered. Both men were rough looking and neither of them was Brian. Are you saying that Clayton Woodsen trying to buy time? How much does he think his daughter is worth?" This time it was Jaime Turner, Brian's right hand man who spoke. From the elegance of the writing to the descriptions of the clothing and the decor I was immersed in this book from beginning to end. I enjoyed The Substitute Bride, though I confess I found it a bit slow in places. It wasn’t until after I’d finished it that I realised why. It’s reprint of an older title, first published in 1977. It seems to me that modern Regency romances have a little more zip about them and maybe a little more joy. (The incomparable Georgette Heyer is an exception, of course.) Maybe it’s me: maybe it’s a personal preference; but the book did feel a little dated. I’m in desperate need of money to pay Grandmother's medical fee. I will marry Charles instead of Yvonne as soon as I get the money.” This was a binge-worthy, steamy story about friendship, infatuation, sacrifice, guilt, familial duties, jealousy, revenge, hope, and love. As well as how hard it is to release preconceived notions, both good and bad, despite all evidence to the contrary. The plot was original, and the characters were brilliant. I had never read anything by this author, but I loved her writing style and am looking forward to reading more of her works.
