Big Jim and Grampa make a cameo after they started arguing about Grampa calling Big Jim "buddy" when they were in the pink Sippy Cup. I wavered between two or three stars with this one. I don't really enjoy the art, and I think Pilkey's plots are over-the-top silly (I know they are supposed to be - target audience and all). My son loves these books, and when he'll read to me (we take turns) I often find myself tuning out or drifting in thought because I just can't bring myself to care about what is happening in the story. In the 'How 2 Draw' section, Invisible Petey is included. However, it is not counted as a drawing because if Petey is invisible, it is just a white blank.

In December 2021, a reprint of the first Dog Man book was released with a cover when you move the book, it changes Dog Man to The Bark Knight. However, The Bark Knight wasn't released until Dog Man and Cat Kid. Two weeks later, according to the Smartometer, the world becomes 'Supa Dumb'. Petey wants to see how stupid they became, so he goes to the car lot. He demanded for a car, which Petey fools the manager into letting him have it for free immediately.

This was the best so far in the series. Dog man and the gang are here to save the world from yet another disaster. I loved Flippy the fish in this and also Li'l Petey but my favorite character is definitely Petey. Only because of Petey I enjoy this series so much and keep on reading this. CDP Theatre Producers is bringing Dog Man: The Musical in Australia, with Josh Whitten playing as Dog Man. Touring begins this June 23-25 in Brisbane, to be followed in Sydney and Perth in the following weeks. HD finished fixing Petey and his son's home, when the sippy cups destroyed it and 80-HD has to start all over again! The sippy cups are on the loose, and capture Grampa and Big Jim. 80-HD tries to defeat the sippy cups, but one of them squirts at him with apple juice, causing him to fall apart. The malic acid from the apple juice destroys 80-HD. Then, the same sippy cup swallows him. The second sippy cup eats Grandpa and Big Jim. Grampa calls Big Jim "buddy." Big Jim tortures Grampa later on for the rest of the book for this, sparking their argument. Meanwhile, Lil Petey and Molly entertain Sarah with their silly songs, to Petey's chagrin. They use outhouses because they need the bathroom. Petey takes Sarah to where it all began. However, Philly lifts up Dog Man into the air. The Leader Hot Dog talks with him about his revenge on him, only to be killed by Dog Man. However, in the process, the living spray can explodes.

When Sarah and Petey see the hospital patients eating the candy and then Sarah says, "Speaking of weird transitions..."Li'l Petey and Molly's songs are parodies based on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and If You’re Happy and You Know It. Petey's red cardigan sweater and tie were based on the clothing often worn by beloved children's television host, Fred Rogers from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Chief is very surprised that Dog Man is wearing a cone. He takes Dog Man home, and Nurse Lady says she notices (and likes) Chief's slippers. Chief is happy (although, his expression looks like he has a crush on Nurse Lady). Chief leaves, and Dog Man describes how the day went to Li'l Petey and 80-HD. Both try to assure him that everything is gonna be okay and leave the "Supa Pillow Fort." They then go up to the grand ballroom. BAD DOGGY! look what you did! Flippy is SQUISHED! You've ruined everything! Go sit over there and look sad! Meanwhile Petey builds a robo-suit for Lil’ Petey which Lil’ Petey uses to fight the buildings and save Dog Man.

Summary
Soon, Dog Man and the others reach the top of the mountain. Flippy is already there in his freezing fish tank, as well as the Treasure tank 2000 with Boog E. Feeva and Flat Petey. Flat Petey had been waiting for them and says to the others that they missed all the fun. Flat Petey then taunts Flippy for being "so excited, he forgot all about how water freezes up here!" and laughs as the evil fish is freezing from the cold.
