About this deal

In the last part of the book a group of seven people, including an individual from each race, are sent down to Earth on a scouting expedition. Their mission is to investigate some odd sightings and to see what's what down there. This leads to the climax of the book and perhaps presents some hope for the future of humankind.

Eve: How the Female Body Drove 200 Million Years of Human

Neal Stephenson’s Seveneves is impressive! Mankind has two years to prepare for the end of the world. Go! There have been other books with a similar premise, but the devil (about how humanity comes together to work out the enormous technological and existential problems of the challenge) is in the details. And the details are important to Stephenson. Critically important! In Seveneves (the first 2/3 of the novel), Stephenson combines nice storytelling with a hard science bend in a way which is understandable (most of the time) and doesn’t have me wanting to skip over those details. Lorna soon gets involved with the woman in charge of the house and the housekeeper. She promises to bring more clients by publishing an article revolving around the house’s history and the family legacy. Little did Lorna know that her vague memories of the old Cornwell house link her directly to the house’s past and could possibly alter her future. First, he has Adam turning away from God and toward self even before Eve is "born." He then colludes with the serpent to get Eve to take the first bite. And when they begin to feel the effects of the forbidden fruit, Eve is grieved and regrets her action, while Adam is glad to have finally made the break with Adoni. Adam then leaves the garden quite willingly, and Eve stays to be restored. The only reason she eventually leaves is because of her love for Adam. She never really "turns" at all.Fleming, Mike Jr. (June 8, 2016). "Skydance Reunites 'Apollo 13' Team For Neal Stephenson Sci-Fi Novel 'Seveneves' ". Deadline . Retrieved June 9, 2016. I was more interested in the people. The author was more interested in describing every square inch of a space station. Then a meteoroid. Then a comet. Lily’s genome being “connected to all other human beings” – it is mentioned, but nothing ever comes of it.

My one and only complaint, and the reason for my 4 star review instead of 5 is because I'm not 100% sold on the way the author placed the heavy blame of man's fall from grace on Adam as opposed to Eve. Perhaps I have misunderstood, but I was always lead to believe that Eve first tempted Adam- not the other way around. Let's get festive with this fantastic Christmas Magic books bundle! "Review: Seveneves by Neal Stephenson". Chicago Tribune . Retrieved 17 May 2015. Stephenson does action-adventure pretty well, and there is plenty of that here. The end of the Earth is a compelling starting point and survival of the species concerns will keep you engaged. Will this work? Will that? Who will live? Who won’t?

The Guardian . Retrieved 17 May 2015. Young readers will love these fully illustrated books from the international bestselling author Jeff Kinney. Admittedly, the first few chapters of this book were difficult for me to follow. You are dropped in a place where you are not quite sure where you are and who you are with. It took me a while to get my bearings in this story but once I did, it was an interesting journey. Mr. Stephenson pulls it off, and I'm not just touting him because I'm a lifelong fan of his writings. I'm saying the novel is solid.
