Complete with an unrivalled sensitivity range from ISO 64 to ISO 1600, the camera makes it possible to achieve crisp photographs with minimal noise, even in very low light conditions. The Anti-Blur Mode, which exploits the camera’s exceptional ISO capabilities, reduces blurring caused by movement of the user, as well as movement blur caused by the subject, making it much more effective than image stabilisation technology alone. One of the primary objectives FujiFilm set out to achieve in this series was to make the camera appealing to SLR users looking for an affordable and versatile digital alternative. They've achieved this, not just in the shape and build of the camera housing, but also in the layout of the controls. FujiFilm has always scored highly when it comes to intuitive design and the S5600 is no exception. Using the vivid colour mode gives bright saturated colours that ironically look a lot more natural than the standard mode, although it also makes the purple fringes stand out even more. Dual compatibility for Fujifilm’s traditional xD-Picture Card™ and the popular Secure Digital (SD) card format, providing a greater choice of storage options.

The camera itself is a SLR type look-alike with a long lens which has a thread so that you could add another lens. Battery duration appears to be excellent. Like the other Fuji superzooms the S5700 runs on four AA batteries, and Fuji makes no particular claim about battery life, but a standard set of alkaline batteries was still providing a full charge after well over 150 shots. As for card capacity, a freshly formatted 1GB card provides approximately enough space for 285 shots. One interesting point is that like the FinePix F40fd, the S5700 can accept both xD Picture and SD cards, thanks to a dual-purpose slot. Unlike the F40fd though it will accept SDHC cards. The Fujifilm S5200 was primarily targeted at the power-user photographers in Australia, Europe and the United States. It was superseded by the S5700. The FinePix S5200 Zoom will be available from UK retailers in September 2005. Pricing will be announced nearer to the date of retail launch.* Fujifilm FinePix S5200 Zoom specifications

FujiFilm FinePix S5600 review | TechRadar

New to the S5600 is an Anti-Blur mode, which the company asserts is more effective than image stabilization technology found on other cameras. It works by using the onboard image processor to increase the shutter speed in poor light by boosting the ISO from 64 up to 1,600. The Natural Light exposure mode also uses the camera's processor to produce low noise images using high ISO settings in low light situations when flash cannot be used. It’s ideal for amateurs and photography enthusiasts alike who want optical power but don’t want to compromise with a heavyweight or bulky camera body. The fixed lens housing also ensures a lightning-fast start-up time and removes the risk of getting dust particles inside the lens or camera body. This was shot at 200 ISO, giving a shutter speed of 1/160th, which with the camera’s superb handling is fast enough for this zoom shot. Note: These ISO test shots were taken in the late 11th century, which was the last time we had any sunshine in this country. I used automatic white balance and program exposure, and all shots were hand held at the widest zoom setting. The S5600 also has the capability of RAW capture allowing users greater freedom to tailor shots to their specific requirements. For convenience, images can also be recorded on JPEG format with Normal and Fine settings available to vary the strength of compression. Fujifilm has today announced the third incarnation of its S series, the FinePix S5200 Zoom (US) S5600 Zoom (Europe). The 5.1 megapixel mini SLR-style camera boasts a 10x optical zoom and Anti Blur mode which is, Fujifilm says, more effective than image stabilization, ISO up to 1600 and a 5th generation of Super CCD HR sensor. It also offers full manual control, VGA movie mode and RAW image capture. The FinePix S5200 will be available in September.
