In most major cards the art has been stripped down to the main human figure, losing some of the familiar symbolism and detaching them somewhat from their environment. Two of Swords– Preventing oneself from seeing the truth, refusing to engage, reluctance to make a decision. The Ace of Cups shows a large gold Cup, with a blue eye centered over it, pouring down light. Arranged in an arc over the Cup are the six phases of the moon. Ace of Swords– Sudden break-though, clarity of thought, new ways of communication. The truth revealed. A new philosophy or way of perceiving the world.

The Ten of Cups presents a typical family scene but only the mother and daughter. There is also a family of cats sitting in front of a house. Instead of a rainbow line, we can see an image of ten cups arranged in an arc over that house. Marchetti mentioned this is the scene where the head of the family is coming home to his wife and children. It is quite confusing as part of the family is missing here. High Priestess 2— “Silence is golden.” Intuition, silence, stillness. Keeper of secrets and mystery. Maidenhood. Spiritual contemplation. I understand where you are coming from, and I know this goes against conventional tarot systems, but I find that the upright cards contain all the meanings necessary to give an accurate reading. As you become more experienced, you learn that the card interpretations are on a spectrum from positive to negative. Emperor 4— “Do as I tell you.” Structure, conformity, stability, power. Masculinity, fatherhood, husband. Maker of rules. Business success. Queen of Cups– Empathic, compassionate, emotionally supportive, good listener, gentle, quiet, reserved. Loves babies and children.

Nine of Swords– Fear, anxiety, worry, nightmares. Unable to see a solution. Know that the solution lies within the problem. Turn things around and try seeing everything from a new perspective. The Hanging Man (Hanged Man) is shown suspended by chains from what appears to be the Wheel of Fortune. To me, he appears to be flailing, as his hands are free and out at his sides - one arm hanging down, the other bent up at the elbow. Fool 0— “Let’s go….!” Represents all potential possibilities. A blank slate. Trust in the Universe. Taking a risk, being open to anything. Foolishness. Three of Wands– Part way to success, more work to do, positive movement forward. Anticipation of good things to come.The artwork itself comes from the digital art venue - and is absolutely stunning! There is great attention to detail, and a very "otherworldly" feel to many of the cards. Marchetti notes that one of the recurring themes in his personal work is that of mechanical devices, devices that act as a bridge between the worlds of science and magic. We see this in cards such as the Wheel of Fortune, which has a mechanical base moving the Wheel; and in the Star, where we see a mechanical base upholding a globe of the world. (The positions in this spread are defined as Works (whatever you are accomplishing throughout the day, either at work or at home), Home (the people and activities surrounding the home), Unexpected (literally, the unexpected things that happen during the day), Your Role (your moods, actions and reactions), and Outcome (the outcome of the day, and the spiritual lesson(s) learned).
