About this deal

When something difficult happens, it’s easy to wonder, “Where are You, God?” And His answer is always the same: “I’m with you.” Sometimes He makes His presence known through the hands and feet of people in our lives. Sometimes He quietly whispers to our hearts. Sometimes He works through circumstances to let us know we’re not alone.

Where Is God? - Online Bible 12 Bible Verses about Where Is God? - Online Bible

To what degree can we rely on God to help us? Is He really someone we can turn to at all...in times of crisis as well as times of calm? Who is God? Man may seek to hide from God, but the relentless “Hound of Heaven” goes after him. God calls to Adam and asks the first question attributed to God in the Bible: “Where are you?” (3:9). Whenever God asks a question, it is not to gain information. God knew exactly where Adam was. He asked the question to make Adam think. If you had a friend coming to your house for the first time and he called and said that he was lost, you would ask, “Where are you?” If he can tell you where he is, you can tell him how to get to your house. You’ve got to know where you are before you can receive directions to where you need to be. Yet this is truth. God is good and will take what the enemy intends for evil to produce something good from it according to Genesis 50:20. I hang onto His promise, trusting God and reminding Him that He has – and is – the solution. The truth is that God cares! He cares about you at the worst moment of your life. You are not forsaken and you are not alone. What about heaven? The Bible says that God has "set eternity in the hearts of men." 18 Maybe that means we know, in our hearts, what a better world would look like. The death of people we love convinces us that there's something very wrong with this life and this world. Somewhere deep down in our souls, we know that there must be a much better place to live, free from heart-wrenching difficulties and pain. To be sure, God does have a better place He offers us. It will be a completely different system in which His will is done all the time. In this world, God will wipe every tear from people's eyes. There will be no more mourning, crying, death or pain. 19 And God, by His Spirit, will dwell in people in such a way that they will never sin again. 20

The good news is that if you’ve ever asked that question & felt like God was far away, you are not alone. Since the days before Jesus, those who have known God & served God have often wondered, “Where in the world is God?” This is next part of a four-part message titled Resurrecting Hope, Part 3: If You Would Have Been Here. Susan has been described as a solid, comforting voice in a messy world. Where Are You? (Genesis 3:7-15) | Bible.org Lesson 9: Where Are You? (Genesis 3:7-15) | Bible.org

When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” 45 Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him’ (John 11:38-45). He is kind and loving, then why is He not helping me? He is Almighty, then why is He not saving me? This is the hardest part, isn’t it? When life is hard, when things are not working out, when things are difficult & everything that could go wrong does go wrong… and the hardest part is just not knowing. Not knowing where God is. Not knowing how this is going to work out. Jesus prays to God and calls Lazarus to come out of the tomb. Let me read verse 42 again: “ I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me." Like Jesus, know your prayers are heard. Lazarus is miraculously resurrected from the dead. Lazarus exits the tomb still wrapped in his grave linens. The power of God is revealed and God alone receives the glory. The fact of the matter is, our timing is not God’s timing. What we want doesn’t always line up with God’s plan. God is all powerful, all knowing and ever present. Jesus hears your prayer; however, the answer is not always what you may want to hear. Jesus will answer your prayer. Jesus responded to Martha and Mary, but not according to their plans. At times, the answer might be yes to your prayer. Other times, the answer might be no as your prayer seems to go unanswered. And still other times, the answer might be not yet when he’s saying trust me, it’s not time, or simply wait. Blame is the human way to deal with guilt. It doesn’t work--our guilt is still there. But it’s the way every sinner tends to deal with guilt. You don’t have to teach it to your kids. They have a built-in circuit that says, “When you do something wrong, blame someone else. But don’t ever admit, ‘I was wrong.’”
