One last thing about the display before we move on to benchmarks – it’s not just set for landscape orientation. It needs to be set to Landscape (flipped) in the Windows 10 Display settings. If you just opt for Landscape, everything will be displayed upside down.
One Netbook also didn’t bother to add support for automatic screen rotation to the ONEXPLAYER. It may have a tablet screen designed for portrait orientation, but this is a computer that’s only really meant to be used in landscape. The company didn’t send me one, so I haven’t tested it, but the keyboard is designed to magnetically attach to a set of pogo pins on the bottom of the computer and seems to be a soft keyboard that will function sort of like a Microsoft Surface keyboard. Memory & Storage Overall the scores are very good. We can’t do a direct comparison with other models as we are using different settings. But it is on par with the ONEXPLAYER 1S in comparison.
I was dubious how an onboard GPU could possibly handle AAA games but the new intel Iris chip is very impressive. You’d probably never know that if you just run Windows. Even the BIOS/UEFI firmware settings menu is displayed in landscape mode. But try running Ubuntu or another GNU/Linux distribution and you’ll most likely boot into portrait mode by default. Because it is an open world. A great deal of care and effort has gone into making Forza Horizon 4 look photorealistic. With some screenshots being indistinguishable from real life at a glance. Since I did not test the Core i7 version of the GPD Win 3, I cannot provide an apples-to-apples comparison, but unsurprisingly the ONEXPLAYER with a Core i7-1165G7 processor bested a Win 3 with a Core i5 chip in most tests. For the gaming benchmarks we are running each game at the same graphics settings and resolution to ensure a more accurate comparison. The GPD Win MAX and Win 3 run at 1280×800 and 1280×720 respectively, while the ONEXPLAYER’s native 2560×1600 is far higher and uses more resources. Forza Horizon 4 So far I have tried a mix recent and old AAA games and Indie games without any issues. The only issue for me is because i'm an old PC Gamer and not used to using controllers for FPS games it would be nice to have had a tilt sensor which I think might make FPS games easier for aiming, and a built in touch pad for playing management sims and RTS games. But i'm tinkering with settings so getting used to the controls. The only other issue which is more annoying is the SD Card reader speed, R/W is around 20-30MB which is ok for running emulator games but would have been nice to be able to buy a 1TB SD card with fast 100MB+ RW speeds to expand storage. While it resembles the OneXPlayer greatly, the biggest difference currently shown is a drastic reduction in size. With a screen of approximately 7 inches in size, rather than a hefty Towards the bottom just below the D-Pad is an orange Desktop button. This will minimise all open windows and show the desktop. The weight, the weight for me is a non issue. When I play a handheld device I do not play it holding it up with my arms. I play them with arms resting down and device down on lap etc. This way the weight becomes a non issue. I don't know how others play handhelds but even with switch you will get tired if you don't rest your arms right. Use an armchair, or rest it on your chest if you're laying in bed. Whatever you do don't actually be holding up the weight of the console.
