If you thought blue was bright, you haven't seen anything yet. The yellow shade is the brightest iPhone XR color and a far cry from the restrained gold color that you can get the iPhone XS in. Having a single camera means that portrait mode isn't as well-developed as on the XS. Taking portraits with both cameras (alas, of people too shy to have their photos in a review), I found a big difference and a small one. The big difference is that the XS uses the 2x camera to take those portraits, resulting in a more tightly framed, headshot-like image at arm's length that is far more flattering. The smaller difference is that the XR's software has some problems with blurring out bits of hair that are behind other bits of hair, so when you zoom in, the silhouetting just isn't perfect.

The display has rounded corners that follow a beautiful curved design, and these corners are within a standard rectangle. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screen is 6.06 inches (iPhone 14), 6.12 inches (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15), 6.68 inches (iPhone 14 Plus) or 6.69 inches (iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Plus) diagonally.
