About this deal

Fear was a warning, a survival instinct. It meant there might still be a way out, if only you could keep your legs pumping and your brain firing long enough to find out.” The force of impact had pushed him—and Laura—roughly forward toward the front of the car. He let go of her for just a moment and stumbled away from the car. And then, impossibly, Laura released the clutch and pushed on the gas. Before I could process what had happened, they hit us again, more forcefully this time. The pathetic boombox tumbled against my leg and clattered to the floorboards. The sound of metal colliding with metal punctuated the rush of air outside the car. Whewwww!!! This book is on fiyahhhh 🔥 🔥 🔥 in book groups on FB. Whoosh! The whole place would burn down. So of course, with the hype and all, I had to read it.

I’m fine,” I insisted, even as my stomach lurched dangerously. I inhaled slowly through my nose to stave off the nausea. “But—” You just have to remember the rule of threes. You can survive three minutes without air. Three hours without shelter. Three days without water. Three weeks without food. First things first, and you’ll survive.” The lesson you get at the end of a novel can vary widely depending on the book you read. Some novels are explicitly designed to teach a specific lesson, while others may leave the interpretation up to the reader. I shivered. Thinking about Ava Robles was not helping my state of mind. “How much longer until we get there?” I asked. I looked at her in disbelief. “If I see a damn mouse come out of your dashboard, I am hurling myself out of the Volvo.”It unfroze something in me. If we didn’t get out of the car now, things were going to get much worse. I knew that any second, he would reach through the window again and grab the keys. Laura wasn’t even holding onto the gearshift anymore.

Why aren’t they passing?” I demanded, even while I scolded myself for overreacting. I didn’t trust my anxious brain to correctly identify a real threat. It had steered me wrong way too many times. Are they serious right now?” Laura’s voice was high and incredulous as she yanked on the gearshift to put the Volvo into reverse. “Do you still have your cell phone?” At the end of Tish’s senior year, Laura, Tish, and I had taken a road trip to Silverwood, a theme park in Northern Idaho. A last hurrah until we joined her at college. As I braced for the next hit, something in the distance made me forget about the blood in my hair and the failed signal message on Laura’s phone.

Run on Red Summary

I hated this book!! I should have DNF’d it but I kept giving it one more chance to change my mind. It started off strong. I liked the plot. The two female leads were likable and it was suspenseful. That’s where the good ends. There were so many repetitious paragraphs and many inconsistencies. One part the write explains that Olivia is wearing flats and then all of the sudden she’s wearing strapped sandals. Clearly it wasn’t edited well. Anytime a potentially intense part came up Olivia ruined it with her incessant chatter. She would overthink everything to death! It was super annoying!! Gross.” I sat forward in my seat, studying the sloping hills looming in the distance. If I remembered right, we were about twenty minutes away from the reservoir once we turned onto this dirt road.

The only things they’d ever found of Ava's were her purse and phone, tossed into the sagebrush at the edge of the reservoir. They’d trolled it too, with zero success. All anyone really knew was that Ava had been at that party one minute—and the next she hadn’t. This is the second book that I have read by this author and I have realized that she’s just not for me. I really wanted to like this book but it took everything in me to not DNF it and keep reading it. The only reason I did was because I wanted to know why they kidnapped Laura and Olivia. I loved how the Author get to the point and doesn’t drag the story for long to the point it gets boring, I felt excitement from the beginning to the end. What do the men want? Will Laura and Olivia get away? One of the men's voices is familiar, but they can't quite pinpoint who the man is. Will they be able to call for help before it's too late? Will they woman be able to outsmart the two men pursing them?

More branches snapped in the distance and I froze. “It’s okay,” Laura whispered. “Come on. I’ll be fine if we go slow. Just hold my hand.” I reluctantly shuffled out from under her arm and grasped her hand tight under the blankets.
