The thermostat is used in commercial, industrial, hospital, hotels, civil buildings and villas for heating control. The basic operation and use of the different versions of Heat Link are nearly identical, but there are some differences.

To keep your home at the temperature you set, your thermostat will automatically turn heating on and off by sending a signal to Heat Link. The app will take you through setup and show you a wiring diagram so that you can see where to plug in your wires. Follow the instructions in the app carefully to install your Nest Thermostat E. Where to install or place your thermostat If Heat Link is installed in a different room, place your thermostat within wireless range of the Heat Link (30 m maximum). To control your system, your thermostat needs to be connected to Heat Link. If the connection is not strong, it may not be able to heat your home. Place your thermostat so that it can communicate wirelessly with Heat Link. If your Nest Thermostat E display has been replaced with a new one, it will need to be connected to the app. Caution:It's important to protect you, your system and your thermostat. Turn off the power to your system at the fuse box before exposing or adjusting any wiring.

If you see an error message on your thermostat that has a code beginning with H, N or T followed by a number, here are some steps that you can take to help fix them. The Nest Thermostat E’s Heat Link will normally be installed in the same spot as your old thermostat. The app will instruct you how to install the Heat Link with your current thermostat wiring. The Nest app’s step-by-step instructions make it easy to install and wire your thermostat, so use it as your main guide. Refer to this article if you need extra help. We don’t recommend using Heat Link to manually control heating unless there is a problem, for example, if your Nest thermostat loses its connection with Heat Link.This is because the thermostat comes with an integrated stand and isn’t designed to be mounted in place of your old thermostat. Instead, the Nest Thermostat E’s Heat Link is mounted where your old thermostat was, and is connected to the thermostat wires. An H153 error message on your thermostat says 'Couldn't detect an OpenTherm connection'. Either your system is incorrectly wired so that OpenTherm isn’t functioning, or your system isn’t OpenTherm compatible but the OpenTherm option was selected in the Nest app setup. If your thermostat is mounted on a stand (not the wall), try moving it a bit closer to where your Heat Link is installed.
