Much like the original show, this movie started out fantastically, with some amazing "surprise" appearances/performances (Bowie, Isaak) to add to that. Then it fell flat, and for me, they totally burst the bubble with revealing way too much about Leland Palmer (Laura's father) and the ongoings in the Palmer family. It was also difficult for me to accept that they exchanged Lara Flynn Boyle with Moira Kelly. UGH... No one does a better Donna Hayward than Lara did. Noisy, unsettling experimental pop in turns touching and political. From now until 3/5, 50% of proceeds go to Planned Parenthood/ACLU. He injects such a unique personality across all his work. He’s one of only a few filmmakers that after ten minutes or so, you know that he’s behind what you’re watching. His stuff feels individual and separate from each other and still so similar and recognisable at the same time. Twin Peaks is no exception.
