To use Blo Pens simply put one of the stencils onto a sheet of paper, blow through your pen and see your pictures appears with amazing airbrush effects. Add the glitter for extra sparkly details and shimmer. There are three main types of craft kit available and all use a liquid gel that hardens in 3 minutes using UV light. The main difference between the kits is the tool used to emit UV light. I would estimate we could get at least 3-4 craft sessions out of this toy, which will help to break up the summer holidays. Don’t dismiss this as yet another jewellery craft as I almost did, it’s different from anything else that I’ve seen. I would score this product 4.5 stars out of 5. The Blo Pens Glitter Studio lets you colour and create decorations as well as make a beautiful butterfly mobile. The easel has lots of storage for your pens and glitters so that you have a mess-free work area. Now that we have made a couple of jewels each I would feel happy to be less “hands on” with the kids and potter around the kitchen whilst they create their own designs. The pink and purple box is pretty large and pleasantly easy to unbox and set up, with clear and step-by-step instructions. There is a section which refers to an alternative piece of equipment which we do not have in this set, and that was the only thing that sent us into a panic of wondering what we were doing wrong. The set is very creative, easy to use and the finished product is very solid and durable. An excellent set to encourage a child’s creativity and a good way to spend some quality time with them. It would also be good for arts & crafts sessions if you are doing home schooling.
