The Go 3 supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, offering you the convenience of remote control and speedy file transfers to your smartphone or tablet. When shooting in FreeFrame mode, there isn't scope to adjust the degree of stabilization – that's managed post-capture – but in standard video mode, you can choose between three levels or turn it off.

Speaking of which, the Go 3 features a 11.24mm f/2.2 camera (35mm equivalent) and is capable of shooting up to 2.7K video (at 24/25/30 frames per second) and photos in four resolutions including 2,560 x 1,440 (16:9) and 2,936 x 1,088 (2.7:1) as a DNG RAW. The camera can also shoot at 1440p and 1080p at 24/25/30/50 frames per second. Timelapses can be recorded to 1440p, but slow motion 120 frames per second video is restricted to 1080p. There are two elements to talk about when it comes to the Insta360 Go 3's design, the core camera and the Action Pod. New recording modes are also present, including Pre-recording, Loop Recording and Timed Capture. Video recorded in low light situations can look good, too, but you’ll need to be much more careful how you hold the camera. I found the image stabilisation struggled to maintain smoothness without introducing shimmering artefacts into clips, even when I was indulging in relatively gentle activities. The camera lens and a recessed action button are located on the front of the camera. When powered, you can give that button a single tap to start recording video or to snap a photo. The Go 3's light weight means it can be magnetically mounted wherever you find a compatible metal surface. While the Action Pod is magnetic, too, it's too heavy to mount sideways. But the size of the GO3 is noticeably smaller than the GoPro Hero 11 even with the action pod, not to mention the GO3 can be removed and it’s super portable and convenient to use. The touchscreen is both responsive and reasonably intuitive to use; the camera itself is water resistant to a depth of 5m, while the Action Pod case is IPX4 water resistant; and it’s not heavy or bulky, either, with the Go 3 weighing a mere 35.5g and the Action Pod a further 96.3g.
