About this deal

Temperatures are set to be around 19C when doors open at 5pm, dropping to 16C by 9pm, but at least there's no rain currently in the forecast. Plenty of clubs and venues have inspired musicians. ‘Plastic People’, for example, played a huge part in the development of artists including Four Tet and Jamie xx. Bars are serving a range of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, plus a gin bar and prosecco bar on the upper hill area above the stadium. For those unfamiliar with the area, there are also a host of restaurants, bars and pubs along Liverpool Road on the way into Castlefield, as well as the popular bars and restaurants on and around Castle Street in the heart of Castlefield. Weather forecast

Marking its seventh Castlefield event at “Sounds Of The City” in the eight years since 2016, the annual homecoming is one of the city’s events of the year as The Haçienda’s crowd, DJ Graeme Park, Manchester Camerata and special guests come together for what is now becoming a legendary party. As anyone who has been to past events will tell you, it doesn't really matter if it's rain or shine, this is one gig you can guarantee a party atmosphere. But fans heading along will no doubt be pleased to hear the forecast is set fair for Friday night. We are looking at some decent weather for the return of the Hacienda Classical this year. Current forecasts are saying sunshine or cloud for most of Friday evening which is just what you'll want to hear if you're heading down to the open-air Castelfield Bowl. Generations of indie-ravers have found inspiration from the pioneers and maintained the creative spirit of those Hacienda moments when electronic dance music fed off and into guitar music. I’m talking about the emergence in the late 1990s of DJs like Erol Alkan and, more recently, the cross-fertilisation seen in the work of the magnificent Hot Chip. Sasha started DJing with him and, when Jon was too busy to play a gig, taking his place. “It all came from there,” says Sasha.Get the latest What's On news - from food and drink to music and nightlife - straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.

Alexis and Joe from Hot Chip not only DJ in their own right, but the band have carefully curated a series of quality remixes, using the likes of Erol Alkan, Fred Falke, Carl Craig, and Sasha (who stretched and twisted Hot Chip’s ‘Flutes’ into a synth-laden epic). By October 1987 he’d taught himself to DJ and had a Wednesday night residency at the Hacienda. His influence on music since – especially in France – is incalculable. It's always a special kind of night when Hacienda Classical is in town. Now in its sixth year performing at Castlefield Bowl's Sounds of the City series, there's also the rather special 40th anniversary of Manchester's iconic superclub to celebrate as well.
