About this deal

Any item returned incomplete or with physical damage such as scratches etc., excessive signs of use, or abuse will not be accepted for return. I think it is important to note that the Story and Mission statements of Linsoul declare that they do not solely strive for products with the highest sound quality. Rather they refer to a combination of sound quality and visual style. It seems the aesthetic appeal of their products is as important as how they sound. Zeus Specifications

HarmonicDyne Zeus Open-Back Headphone Review - Major HiFi

The Phoenix has more sub-bass reach and has more physical rumble. Its mid-bass is also more pronounced, relative to the midrange which sounds more recessed compared to the Zeus. Male vocals are leaner but less intimate on the Phoneix while female vocals and electric guitars are lifted. Reactions to the inclusion of wood veneer on the sides of the band are varied (and some folks feel it looks ‘cheap’) but I find it to be a decent match for the cups and fairly attractive. Full-sized headphones: HarmonicDyne Zeys, Ollo S4X Reference, Hifiman Susvara, Hifiman Arya, Audeze LCD-4, Erzetich Phobos, Erzetich Mania, Quad ERA-1, Kennerton Wodan, Magni & Gjallarhorn We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. PRaT, Texturization, Detail, Resolution, Dynamics, Impact, and overall tonality are all revealed by those songs. We recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you’re searching for new music!Treble is starker on the Phoenix, especially the lower treble which is more forward, giving the Phoenix its V-shaped signature. The Zeus sounds much smoother and less aggressive in comparison. When it comes to resolution, Zeus comes out ahead with more space between elements and superior instrument separation. The soundstage is smaller and more intimate compared to the Zeus. Conclusion The Zeus’ sound signature can be described as simply “warm”. There is a noticeable hump that peaks around the mid-bass and lower-midrange frequencies and is also the most forward region of the Zeus’ frequency response.

The side grills are the one thing that I wish were a bit more refined. It seems like it’s a thin sheet of stainless steel that was laser cut to create the patterns on the grills. Unfortunately, the detailing in the grill is a bit too small, so it can’t be blunted. So the sides of the grills feel a bit like a cheese grater, which is, fortunately, not sharp enough to cut into my fingers.

This applies for most countries. However, large items such as headphones and desktop DAC/AMPs (e.g. HarmonicDyne G200, MUSICIAN MDP-2, and etc.) are excluded. Soundstage: Soundstage is good. It is less than my K702 but not by too much. It is fairly deep and wide. I don't think anyone would dislike it for that reason. It is nothing special though. I don't get a "Concert Hall" like feeling, it is simply good. As noted in my Helios review, the laser-cut grill is similar in appearance to the ZMF Verite grill with a dark wooden surround. The fabric used under the grills is different between the two models, with the Helios fabric appearing to be more flat paper-like and the Zeus having a noticeable texture in the material. Zeus Comfort The most obvious comparison would be with Ollo S4X which is a semi-open headphone that I’ve reviewed last year, it is a really good monitoring type of headphone that I’m enjoying immensely for quite some time. Harmonic Dyne Zeus + Lotoo Paw 6000 (350 USD + 1200 USD) – I love the way LPG6K sounds sweeter and more gentle with the Zeus. There’s a lot of play in the sound, with a beautiful midrange, while the treble is slightly more extended and sparklier than with most DAPs. The bass is deep, but controlled while the midrange is musical, gentle and refined. Tons of holographics, but not as much depth as with DX220 MAX.

Review: HarmonicDyne Poseidon Headphones – Brother of Zeus Review: HarmonicDyne Poseidon Headphones – Brother of Zeus

Starting with the build quality, Harmonic Dyne Zeus is really well built. They are a full metallic headphone, with wood accents, and leather insertions, a leather covered headband, and soft earpads. The fit is fully over-the-ear for my larger ears, and Zeus is as comfortable as HIFIMAN Deva, Sennheiser HD800S or any large and uber-comfy headphone. At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a perfectly natural headphone, with a sparkly and detailed presentation, tons of slam in the lows, an excellent extension both ways, and probably the most vivid and holographic presentation you can hear below 1000 USD, then the HarmonicDyne Zeus is a 10/10 and totally recommended. These are not hyper treble phones, and i'll get into that more when we get to the midrange section of this mini review. With the more extended treble range, the Poseidon presents an impressively delineated and accurate imaging presentation. This allows the images within the soundstage to be separated with a layer of air between them. Its musical character is defined by a warm low end, in particular the boosted mid-bass. This tuning isn’t likely to appease those who are looking for a highly technical, bright or detailed presentation. But if someone wanted a musical, smooth and warm sound then this would likely be right up their alley. Bass

Comfort

Zeus has a clean midrange performance; it starts very strong but it isn’t elevated at all. Its neutral to me and doesn’t stand out very often. Voices were rendered pretty nicely with an unmistakable pitch between male and female voices, but in terms of frequency response this is probably the least impressive part. The upper midrange starts rolling-off and sometimes gives an impression of shoutiness, as if some sounds lost their intensity and are playing through a pillow. When I moved to my older jazz tunes that are extremely rich in the midrange section, it was clear to me that Zeus wasn’t soul grabbing to me, there wasn’t that meaty voluptuous sound that I’m in love with my Audeze and Kennerton headphones. It felt by a hair drier, but not to a point of calling them thin or lifeless, because Zeus are not like that at all. It has more of a linear type of midrange that leaves the rest of the spectrum shinning brighter, moving all the spotlights toward bass and treble areas. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my blues and jazz, acoustic music sounded good too, only sometimes I was missing a bolder and heavier tonality of high-end planars, but you can’t really have them all at this price point.
