Pearce found religion and rejected extremism, moving to the US to become an academic, but claims that when he last saw Donaldson in 1992 he had become “worn out” from constant street-battles and infighting within the movement. ‘Anti-Fascist Action’

The great merit of this work would be the fact that several songs are translated into French by the author himself. We had read their lyrics on Youtube a long time ago, but our poor knowledge of English did not allow us to deepen their meaning. Brewers Droop Brewers Droop formed around High Wycombe in 1971. They played blues-based music and gigged extensively in the early days of…Since South Africa has become our passion, we will reproduce the lyrics of their song “Strikeforce” : We have uncovered evidence that right wing Canadian band Légitime Violence are due to headline this year’s Ian Stuart Donaldson (ISD) gig – the largest annual white power concert held in the UK.

Skrewdriver had initially toured as an apolitical punk band in the 70s but Pearce convinced Donaldson to relaunch the band in 1982 with a new line up and to promote the National Front’s agenda. This version of the band split up in January 1979 after a concert in Warrington, but Donaldson resurrected the name Skrewdriver in 1982 using new musicians. There are 8-10 Blood and Honour concerts around the UK every year that attract normally less than 100 people. This was bigger but made up mainly of people from overseas who see coming to the UK and getting away with a concert here as a major result." The organisation was at its peak in the late 80s and early 90s when there was a Nazi-skinhead revival, but its influence has waned in no small part to the quality of its music and its followers and due to a split in the 1990s that left the organisation almost dead in the water and some of its leading figures left the country to avoid the attentions of the Nazi terror group C18 with whom they had a row over finances. Crane died of an Aids-related illness just two months after Donaldson was killed in a car crash, both aged 36.

The gig was well attended with people attending this important milestone event from across the country, with concert goers from across England, Wales and Scotland as well as a number of people coming from assorted European countries. Despite all the efforts of a rag-bag of cultural Marxists and self-styled ‘anti-fascists’, the ISD gig was successfully held in an excellent venue in this North-East city, and the event was not disrupted or hindered by those hostile elements. However, his death also coincided with a period of heavy defeats for far-right streetfighters, who became increasingly isolated and secretive, and the start of the BNP’s move towards electoralism, taking the skinheads off the streets. On the 5th of October, Ian Stuart Donaldson funeral was held at Carleton Crematorium. Among the 20 or so people who attended was Cat, Ian's fiancé Diane, his brother Tony and his life long friend, and original Skrewdriver drummer, Grinny. Bon Jovi's song ‘Blaze Of Glory’ was played and it’s been said that Lemmy of Motörhead sent flowers. Since his death he has become the icon of far-right skinhead groups, with concerts planned each year in commemoration, where white power bands perform in front of swastika banners with Third Reich memorabilia openly on sale. Donaldson was both a musician and ran the Blood and Honour neo-Nazi network. He was the frontman of a band called Skrewdriver, which openly promoted far-right groups and also was also the lead in two other bands called the Klansman and White Diamond.
