About this deal

Extremely detailed sound reproduction ideal for recording vocals, acoustic instruments, and just about any other sound source I just spent several days testing out the new Samson C01U Pro USB studio condenser microphone. All the details are below. But first, let’s talk about what a USB microphone is. Ease of use. Samson is a bit easier to use, and it’s smaller and more portable. The Yeti is difficult to protect and very heavy.

What Makes Our Sales Engineers Great?

Both have a pretty similar sound and compete heavily with each other. Many people say they prefer the Yeti’s sound over the CO1U. You be the judge! Basically, a standard microphone (3-pin/”XLR” connector) needs extra electronics and a way to plug it into a computer. You use an interface box for that. An interface provides phantom power (condenser mics need 48v of power), conversion of sound to digital format, and preamplification (“preamps”). So many people rave about its sound quality, build, convenience, and versatility. It’s really an all-purpose mic that is super easy to use. Complaints include size (a bit large), and you can’t include a standard pop filter unless you Jerry rig it. People were also saying it’s hyper-sensitive, but recording in the right environment greatly helps. The best thing about it is the signal-to-noise ratio! I have the original version of the Samson C01U, and the hiss from the mic is quite loud. It CAN be removed with noise reduction fairly easily, since it was a steady consistent noise. But it would be much better to prevent it in the first place. And with the C01U Pro, Samson has almost completely gotten rid of that hiss!

Well, friend, that’s about it for today! I hope you now have a better idea of the similarities and differences between the Samson C01U vs. Blue Yeti… Are you convinced that the AT2020 is better? Let me know!! Micro thu âm Samson C01U Promang tới tần số âm thanh chất lượng cao với Độ phân giải 16 bit, 44,1 / 48kHzNevertheless, subjective testing suggests that the tonality does stay nominally similar, provided that you remain close to the mic's axis, regardless of which pattern is selected. The high end of the omni pattern will inevitably change as you move off axis, especially with a large-diaphragm capsule such as this one. Smart Performer And though this is not truly a fair comparison, here is the same voiceover recorded with my Rode/Scarlett 2i2 combo (a setup that costs more than 4 times what the Samson costs). Voiceover recorded on Rode NT2-A through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface Comparison with Samson Q2U dynamic USB mic The Samson C03 is a smart-looking mic with multi-pattern performance at a budget price. Its technical spec is more than adequate in all the areas that are important, and what really matters is that it makes a fine job of just about anything you care to point it at. Based on a large-diaphragm Chinese-built capsule, the mic is very nicely styled and cleanly engineered, with a choice of supercardioid, omni or figure-of-eight polar patterns. Supercardioid is a bit of an odd choice for studio work, but looking at the supplied polar plots indicates that it isn't too tight — very narrow cardioid patterns can be problematic if you're working with a singer who moves around a lot.
