The Shark CH950UKT is a powerful handheld vacuum cleaner that offers great cleaning performance for fast, easy cleaning whenever or wherever you need it. Shark sells replacement filters for the CH950UKT. The filters should last a long time, but if they become torn or otherwise damaged then it’s important to replace them. Note: In the CH950UKT manual, Shark specifically mentions that you shouldn’t use a hair dryer (or any other drying tool) to speed up the process. The filters should only be air-dried. The Dyson V7 Trigger is another handheld vacuum alternative to the Shark CH950UKT. They’re almost identical in weight with the Dyson a fraction lighter at 1.38kg Vs 1.39kg for the Shark. But Dyson has managed to get a larger 0.54 litre dust canister and a bigger, better battery. With that said, we tested the Shark CH950UKT and found it lasted around 13 minutes with the motorised pet tool attached (although this is without active cleaning). While this still isn’t enough for a deep clean, it’s perfectly acceptable for the types of cleaning jobs the Shark is designed to handle. The four-hour charge time is also around average for a handheld. We found the dusting brush useful for more delicate surfaces, although we felt that the fibres were stiffer than we would like. Be careful when using the dusting brush on very delicate surfaces, as the bristles could cause small scratches. We found this tool to be effective at cleaning carpets, rugs, mats, and car seats. This is due to the extra agitation, meaning that the vacuum doesn’t need to rely entirely on suction power to remove debris and hair.Only use cold water to clean the Shark CH950UKT’s filters. Never clean the filters with hot water, cleaning products, a dishwasher, or a machine wash. Step 4: Allow the Filters Time to Dry Fully If you want the strongest suction you’d have to opt for the Dyson V7 Trigger, which pulls through a lot more air than the Shark can muster. The Shark is also a bit fiddly to hold and the Hoover H-Handy 700 is better at offering a wand-like grip, although its smaller bin can’t hold as much dirt, while the Gtech Multi MK2 K9 has a more balanced feel in the hand. It’s not quite the best suction we’ve seen from a handheld, though. We think the Shark CH950UKT is an excellent handheld for cleaning around the home. In particular, we found that the pet tool makes it much more effective at cleaning carpets, sofas, and rugs than many other handheld models. Replace the filters in the frame, the frame into the dust cup, and the dust cup onto the main vacuum body. The Shark HandVac CH950UKT has a two-part filter, which can be accessed by removing the dust cup from the main body of the vacuum cleaner. Cleaning both filters is important to maintain airflow through your vacuum and prevent suction loss. Opening up the branded box was the main unit, three attachments and the charging cable. As with all deliveries I get excited as to what's inside so as soon as I got my hands on the main unit, I fired it up. It worked BUT I wasn't going to use it until it had it's first charge. The lithium-ion battery which powers this vac takes approximately four hours to charge completely, so I left it to charge until it was ready. There's a slow flashing light when the vac is charging. It’s important to keep the filters clean, however, to ensure that the vacuum doesn’t lose suction strength over time.We found that the combination of lightweight design and mini motorised tool makes the Shark cordless handheld vacuum cleaner excellent for cleaning stairs. The bristles dig into carpet fibres to pull up dust and dirt. The crevice tool is also great for whizzing around the edges. The first step is to remove the vacuum canister and cleaning head from the main body. To do this, there is a yellow button on the underside of the vacuum. The Shark’s filtration system does an acceptable job at preventing dust and dirt from escaping, although it’s not the most effective or hygienic we’ve tested.
