About this deal

Trick and Rules follow on the acclaimed heels of the November 2014 international release of Alex’s fifth album, DSU. In 2011, Giannascoli enrolled at Temple University, where he studied English in hopes to become a teacher, but eventually dropped out to pursue a musical career. Recorded prior to DSU and previously only available via Alex’s Bandcamp account, the albums have now been professionally mastered and are being made commercially available for the very first time. he cares for sarah somewhat but comes to find that he likes sarah more than he thought he would in the infancy of their friendship. However, in mid-2020 he dropped the (Sandy) and reverted back to Alex G after female pop singer Alex G (now Alex Blue) changed her name.

Alex has found millions of new fans from viral TikTok sounds, showing that any obscure track from the early 2010s is only one popular e-boy shout-out away from being appreciated by a new generation.

In 2015, Giannascoli signed with Domino Recording Company and released his debut with the label Beach Music on October 9. Alex’s fourth album was originally self-released digitally on his Bandcamp, but received the physical attention it deserved following the release of his breakthrough fifth album DSU, remastered and issued on vinyl in 2015 for the first time. this is probably his hookiest, its very good but house of sugar and then after that maybe DSU r his best imo.

In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. It’s also by far his most hopeful record, the dark shadow of early death largely absent from his lyrics. Trick by Philadelphia’s Alex Giannascoli, recording under Alex G, is not a new album per se - it is a collection of material previously available through Bandcamp, where Alex G made a name for himself, remastered. Some of the year's worthy records that you may have missed, including albums by Madlib and Freddie Gibbs, eclectic pop upstart Shamir, infectious Swedish punks Makthaverskan, Japanese sample whiz Lee, and many more.Considering that the storyline is in the perspective of a pet owner reflecting on past memories of their pet while also doing a little self-reflection while they are at it combined with the substance abuse references, it is almost apparent that this album is in the perspective of somebody who is struggling with substance abuse. Both Trick and Rules continue to showcase a prodigious song-writing talent, reaffirming that Alex G is one of the most promising and prolific American musicians today.

Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault] Now That We Don’t Talk (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault] “Slut! With three more original albums released since, Alex’s cult-like fanbase, which includes the likes of Frank Ocean, only ever increases, and Trick remains a firm favourites as more fans discover his prolific back catalogue. Looking at the cover, it feels as if the work is daring you to find meaning, but even upon closer inspection any concrete meaning remains elusive. After self-releasing various albums, EPs, and singles on Bandcamp from 2010 to 2012, Giannascoli's popularity spread through word of mouth, blogs, and reverence by other musicians.

Trick is soaked in the distinctive personality that is Alex G; the professionally mastered versions of these tracks affirming that underneath all the unconventional guitar lines and scrawls of fuzz, Alex has a serious knack for melodic songwriting. An enrapt audience hushedly singing along word-by-word to album track ‘Change’ was one of many magical moments.

But between Trick and DSU, Alex had to rely on his own instinct and honest self-appraisal of his abilities. Mary” and “Sarah” are the two most popular songs from the album pre and post TikTok, and accordingly feel the most developed in structure, instrumentation, and melody. Harvey’ is an enticing bite of Giannascoli’s world, one that’s sure to get you hooked from the direct opening salvo of “ success for my buddies, success for my friends”.It sounds like an epiphany: Alex Giannascoli, sitting in his dorm-room three years ago, suddenly seeing his entire future flash before his eyes.
