About this deal

Once I have a fully realized idea, I work out how to put it into simple words that cut to the core of the issue and are hopefully something that viewers won’t find cryptic or irrelevant.

I was reminded of " The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" by Charlie Mackesy, as the approach is slightly similar – characters interacting with each other in a bond of love, friendship, support, acceptance, and encouragement. There are some beautiful ideas covered such as the importance of living in the moment, the importance of helping others while helping yourself too, and the value of being a listener. Books like this I find to hard to comment on - even if they are more my personal views rather than professional in-depth reviews. I guess the recent lock downs and isolation that Covid has brought to us all in varying degrees has made us a lot more introspective and books like this have taken on a new importance to many. This is a hard subject to talk about as it’s difficult to discuss what we perceive as our inadequacies. As with Milne's work, Norbury also banks on illustrations getting the point across and getting people interested (he even mentions it in his foreword). Best way I can explain it is that if that book is for coffee drinkers, this one is for tea drinkers.

We all have great wisdom deep down, but it can be a hushed voice and gets easily drowned out by modern living. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Inspired by Buddhist philosophy and spirituality, the story of these whimsical characters makes the perfect gift for anyone looking for a little hope and comfort. Otvoriti jednu stranicu dnevno, bit će sasvim dovoljno za uljepšati si dan, potaknuti se, sagledati situacije na drugačiji način, usporiti i uživati u životu. The two friends often find themselves lost but discover beautiful sights they never would have found if they had gone the right way.

The pages are thick so it looks like the book will stand the test of time… I hope that when my son grows up, he keeps this as an “heirloom” and a reminder of the time we were all holed up due to this pandemic (which has its own shout-out in the author’s Afterword). I discovered James Norbury's creation a while back on Instagram by complete coincidence (I'm not a huge fan of social media so I rarely use the app) but I fell in love with the cute illustrations right away.
