About this deal

Recently missed out on a OG copy of this LP on a popular auction site so I thought I`d give this reissue a chance as I want the LP on vinyl. as the owners of the copyrights, different runouts and "Printed in The Netherlands" on the back cover. A few months later, it was arranged that Allison and the band meet at a rehearsal room to finally begin production on the band's debut album. Matt Diehl of Rolling Stone opined that the album "ultimately rises above its influences to become a work of real transcendence".

I have this and it sounds most excellent; I liked it better than the yellow vinyl 20th anniversary copy I had. Coldplay's record label, Parlophone, had originally intended to use a mixing engineer for the tracks they picked as singles, but eventually hired Brauer to work on all songs on Parachutes [3] except the song "High Speed" which was mixed by Chris Allison. It does not sound remastered from the original recordings - it just sounds like a clean copy of the 1st pressing. The vinyl itself is pretty fine, but the mastering is clearly compressed and more lifeless than my CD version. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. In the United States, the album peaked at number 51 on the Billboard 200 and eventually was certified double platinum. Once such clip is an alternate version of their Yellow video, which features extras and sees the band's frontman walk down the beach in a red jumper. Although I haven't listened to Coldplay in years, I am still fond of this album's acoustic grounding and it's the vinyl I've likely listened to most even though I haven't spun it in probably 5 or 6 years.

It was also certified 3× Platinum in Australia by the Australian Recording Industry Association, [69] and 2× Platinum in Canada by the Canadian Recording Industry Association. Comprised of various labels we know and love at Rough Trade (Bella Union, ATO, Speedy Wunderground, Phantasy, Heavenly, Mute and more) PIAS [Recordings] filter through some of the most diverse artistry to our racks, which we greatly enjoy digging into. Coming back to the record 9 years after purchasing it, I have to say that I'm in the camp that feels as though my copy of this version is not particularly warm and comes across as a bit flat. He also commented that they look beyond: "We know that's terrible music and we always try to think about what we can do next.Allison describes 'High Speed' as thus: 'You'll notice it is quite a bit different to the other tracks, because there are other sounds going on in it: we wanted to mix a soundscape in with the classic rock sound on that particular track. Not that Parachutes is a depressing album - there's too much conviction to the guitars and hope in martin's words for that. The record is certified 9× Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry for selling over 2,700,000 copies. The 180g reissue has the same -1-1/-1-1 matrix, so it's pretty hard to tell a 1st press from a reissue without weighing it. million units sold in the United Kingdom, Parachutes is the 22nd best-selling album of the 21st century and 45th of all time in the country.
