About this deal

Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor briefly tried a Napoleon-inspired look, a mortarboard with cape, and the clothes of four of his predecessors, but he quickly settled on this iconic jumper that underlines the show's main concept: Doctor. Inspired by the infamous Christmas Special, there’s even one featuring Leia, Luke, Han and Chewie enjoying a little sing-song. Maybe it’s the novelty of seeing a different colour jacket after nearly two series of ol’ blue, or maybe it’s the actual quality of the episodes it appears in. And the retro Mario Coins jumper will get you in the mood to nab all the chocolate coins over the Christmas period.

The first big costume change for The Twelfth Doctor (excluding his purple shirt from Robot of Sherwood) came in Series 8, Episode 4.

We’ve seen exactly the same sort of variation before with previous Doctors, so it’s nothing new or unique.

Oh, and we've thrown in some Daleks and the Doctor's TARDIS too, so you can show off your fan credentials all winter. It represents the new cosmic rocker vibe while also throwing back to Doctor Who’s original Dalek stories. There’s a reason the Doctor Who fanbase imploded after on-location pictures leaked out from filming on Face the Raven. While at first glance he’s an older and starker Time Lord, at heart(s) he really wants to leave an impression. Our exclusively-designed pattern incorporates the Great Intelligence in snowflake form, and the killer Christmas trees as seen in The Christmas Invasion (2005) and The Runaway Bride (2006).However, it’s a look that’s stuck, appearing in six out of twelve episodes in Series 9 (seven, if you include The Magician’s Apprentice opening scene). Everything else is fair game – but just in case you were wondering, the Wee Willie Winkie nightdress from Deep Breath didn’t make the cut.

Whether he's fighting the Sycorax, Harmony Shoal, or his own regeneration, the Doctor never has much luck at Christmas. Everyone loves a good Christmas jumper, and year on year there seems to be an ever-growing demand for great geeky ones. In Series 8 alone there’s a costume change almost every episode, and even more variations were added in Series 9.But, despite its widespread use in promotional publicity shots, the original Twelfth Doctor costume is admittedly a little plain. Coupled with our 100% Silk Scarf and Hanky, this jumper is a must-have item for fans of McCoy’s dark but witty Doctor, who first appeared in1987’s Time and the Rani. Crunch the numbers and you’ll discover that this look has appeared even more often than his official outfit!
