Fans of Baldacci’s 'memory man'character will be highly satisfied with Long Shadowsand anxiously await the next installment in the series. Brooks presents a case for making room for Bigfoot in the world while peppering his narrative with timely social criticism about bad behavior on the human side of the conflict: The explosion of Rainier might have been better forecast had the president not slashed the budget of the U.

Maybe, but the sasquatches whom the volcano displaced contributed to the statistics, too, if only out of self-defense. Because this is the latest book in a series, his character has already been fine tuned and that makes it for us, readers, a great character. And here, although she pops in briefly, she seemed to be quite different to the character I knew and loved. If he could just come up with the right words that would let this episode end well when it could so very easily go the other way.
