A Maxi-Cosi bedside crib like the Maxi-Cosi Iora allows you to have you baby right next to your own bed. What makes it different is its ability to transform into a cot (and then a toddler bed and a sofa when you purchase the expansion pack) – extending the life of the product by at least 18 months. The Chicco crib is super versatile and features 11 height settings, making it easy to attach it to most types of adult beds using the safety straps provided to enable safe co-sleeping. We found it to sit comfortably alongside our tester’s bed, and there’s an easy-to-use harness included that’s compatible with most beds, including divans.Made with super-soft, premium, 100% recycled fabrics, the Iora Air features an all-round, breathable mesh fabric. On the other hand, our iron-frame bed is somewhat lower than average, but the Iora also sat in the correct position with our mattress. Do you want a cot with an open side to sit alongside your bed, or would you prefer a design with a retracting panel? While it was very smart looking, it didn't fit properly next to our bed, so we only used it as a standalone crib. Like many of the other bedside cribs, the Shnuggle Air can also be used as a standalone crib, and features dual-view mesh sides and a hypo-allergenic airflow mattress, designed to maximise airflow and breathability for your baby.

Plus, it’s also surprisingly easy to pack away once disassembled and slots neatly into the carry-bag that comes with it. The Iora is an elegant, stylish, adjustable co-sleeper with the most comfortable mattress you or your baby could dream of. Sure, at the start, the adrenalin of having a newborn will see you through the night, but as the days roll on (and into each other), dragging yourself out of bed – sleepy and sore – doesn’t get any easier, which is where a bedside crib can be helpful. In line with baby sleep guidelines, they allow your little one to have their own space, minimising the risk of suffocation, overheating, and SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) that can be associated with co-sleeping.The quality of the mattress also went down well – it’s firm yet sumptuous, and the permeable mesh liner within the interior of the crib is breathable and can be removed and thrown in the washing machine for easy cleaning.
