Whether you are an illustrator, designer, student, artist or crafter - these pens are perfect for everyone who demands the highest quality from the pens they us. Water-based pens are best for most uses since they produce more controlled lines and are less likely to bleed through paper. The truth is I would normally dismiss this pen as a cheap children’s pen, but it really did well in most of the tests and gave the others a good run. The pen has a pretty basic design, reminiscent of a school pen, with its hexagonal shape and I’m pretty sure I did use these in school back in the day. The sturdy tips of these pens, protected with a hard plastic shield, provide slight line variation with pressure, unlike other options that can be easily bent out of shape.

Generally speaking, thinner paper is more likely to show through and absorbent paper is more likely to bleed through.Every time I travel with a journal or sketchbook, I throw a few fineliner pens into my bag because these pens are an essential part of my creative toolkit. However, if you are using a marker pen that is not compatible with your fineliner, it can lead to feathering and smudging. I would say that this is one of my favourite fineliners to use, however I am rather heavy handed and over time the nib wears out. We tested all of our fineliners for drying time, bleedthrough, water resistance, Copic resistance, and lifting resistance.With heavy pressure, the marker lines can bleed through a page, but dots and regular writing presented no trouble.
