Note that enabling MPE for the input port means that all MIDI channels are in use, so it's not possible to set a track to discretely respond to one MIDI channel. As with those instruments it uses a system of chain-able 16-step patterns, which appears pretty simplistic at first glance but proves to be much deeper once you start digging into the features and capabilities.

The new arpeggiator probability feature brings an element of randomness to each arpeggiator, turning SL MkIII into a generative and constantly evolving instrument. Step sequencing within Patterns is fine, and you can switch directly to different tracks with the Part buttons. The keyboard can also be divided into Zones, which can each be assigned to one of the eight Parts, so users can play multiple instruments at once - handy for use as a live performance hub. Beyond the sequencer, the SL MkIII also features an Arpeggiator, with adjustable rate, gate length and direction.Unpacking the SL MkIII, I couldn’t help but note some contemporary influences, starting with an Elektron‑style braided USB cable.
