About this deal

Both of those copies satisfied me over time, but I have been craving the original UK Parlophone pressing for a long time to get as close as possible to the original master.

Seeing as I wouldn’t have bought it and shelled out near 100 dollars if i didnt think it was this version. Like others mentioned, this vinyl is unfortunately heavy/compressed/sounding, not mastered well imo. The overall theme of OK Computer seems to be more or less a satire on modern life; mocking our choice of living -- a far departure from the less complex lyrics of their sophomore effort The Bends. It's beautiful, mysterious, scary, and thought-provoking; a record that will indefinitely be a future classic.Recently I purchased the 2013 because honestly there is such minor differences between that and an original that I said f**k this and am totally satisfied. OK Computer came seemingly out of nowhere and kicked our asses until there was nothing left to kick. Each song is a climactic hellride, and although some of the songs have a minor tone, they somehow emit an uplifting feeling. The lyrics vary from songs about running away from home ("Exit Music") to homicidal insanity ("Climbing Up the Walls"). But keep in mind most of us (Radiohead fans) are obnoxious audiophiles and minor league drama queens.

those at capitol including phil costello, clark staub, gary gersh, daralyn adams, brian macdonald, rob gordon. Artistic freedom in the market place maintained by keith wozencroft and tony wadsworth with perry watts-russell. Years after its release, OK Computer can still recapture every emotion and feeling I have ever had toward the album -- a true sign of a brilliant piece of work. So I bit the bullet and got the 3LP Blue because everyone said it's the bee's knees and damn were they right. After a few cymbal hits toward the heart of the song, it kicks into full gear with fuzz bass and multiple guitars. audio fixing and dubbing done at mayfair, abbey road, air lyndhurst, courtyard and the church using the wonders of a digital and and analogue age. Yorke singing over an acoustic guitar, which is later sprinkled with minimal keyboard sounds and a tape loop.

Yet all of this would simply be showmanship if the songs weren't strong in themselves, and OK Computer is filled with moody masterpieces, from the shimmering "Subterranean Homesick Alien" and the sighing "Karma Police" to the gothic crawl of "Exit Music (For a Film). It's a thoroughly astonishing demonstration of musical virtuosity and becomes even more impressive with repeated listens, which reveal subtleties like electronica rhythms, eerie keyboards, odd time signatures, and complex syncopations.

If you are proud of your stereo on a quality standpoint you definitely need to get a copy just to hear it. Not a huge fan of the album, honestly, but my friend has a 2LP Black copy that he let me borrow and damn it sounded amazing. However, I don't know if this is just a me thing, but on side eeny, the little center paper thingy is off center, causing the needle to scrape through it slightly. A bulk of the songs seamlessly morph into the next, resulting in smooth transitions and easy listening. Matrix / Runout (Side D runout): NODATA 01̶2D-1-1- I'M AN IMPORTANT PERSON, WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME HOME WITH ME?I was under the impression it was the blue version because its 3 lps, made in the uk, and the barcode and matrix number listed on the outer packaging all match up to that version. Some of their newer efforts (Kid A and Amnesiac) seem to be over-baked or the instruments seem too distant from each other, but with help from producer Nigel Godrich, Radiohead have created a multi-layered soundscape that flawlessly combines a live band atmosphere with a studio environment. Even at its most adventurous -- such as the complex, multi-segmented "Paranoid Android" -- the band is tight, melodic, and muscular, and Thom Yorke's voice effortlessly shifts from a sweet falsetto to vicious snarls. Had this shelved for a while so pulled it out for a recent play - where it’s good it’s phenomenal but…. While that's not necessarily true, I once found myself so mad after receiving the wrong copy that I was ready to verbally assault the seller.
