Before too long a connection between these stories and the characters who star in them emerges, by which point you’ll be well and truly hooked. The Keeper of Stories by Sally Page is a charming feel good book , perfect cosy reading for a Winter weekend. Trapped in a stale marriage that has run its course and seemingly devoid of a story of her own, Janice instead collects the anecdotes of the colourful, idiosyncratic people she cleans for - until one of her clients becomes interested in her story after all, But what will happen when Janice starts reflecting on who she actually is?As a dog lover (obviously), I absolutely adored the relationship Janice has with Mrs YeahYeahYeah’s very sweary Fox Terrier, Decius. It doesn't matter that she is incredibly well read, resourceful and interesting, she is 'just a cleaner. I fell totally in love with Janice’s stories and those of Mrs B, especially the reminiscing of her younger self and the Becky saga. Her own life is humdrum; she knows she only plays a bit-part in the lives of the people she meets but she guards and looks after their stories as if they are precious jewels and she shares them only with us, the reader. It's a crockpot of all sorts, held together by a strong central character and a couple of plot lines which merge neatly.

Her detestable son, Mr Nonono is horrid, and his wife, Mrs yesyesyes, is very annoying and no better than him. However, she had reckoned without the ‘wonderful’ Charlotte Ledger at OneMoreChapter, a digital imprint within the giant HarperCollins publishing house, who offered her a book deal. Nie brakuje również u Sally Page porównań do bohaterek „Targowiska próżności” – kontrastu między dziką karierowiczką Becky Sharp i uroczą, naiwną Amelią Sedley.
This might be an unpopular opinion looking at some of the comments but this was the most boring book I’ve read!
