About this deal

Just imagine that we could better understand our health conditions simply by looking inside our own bodies. The Usborne See Inside Your Body book is so thorough covering everything about your body’s functions and abilities that will fascinate children. This exciting book, packed with lively illustrations and fascinating flaps, is bursting to reveal your body's amazing secrets. See inside your Body by Katie Daynes and Colin King is an excellent non fiction resource for teaching children about their bodies.

At the beginning of the book there is a table of contents and also at the end of the book there is a list of words that will help you understand the book. Children in our school LOVE books about the body, and they especially LOVE books about the body with fold-up flaps to see what's inside.

These designs gave a flexible array of tiny ultrasound transducers, the idea being that such a device would stretch and conform with a patient’s body. This can potentially change the paradigm of medical imaging by empowering long-term continuous imaging, and it can change the paradigm of the field of wearable devices. This is a durable, detailed exploration of how our bodies work, and while there is a lot of detailed text, both K1s and K2s will crowd around this book in the library, pointing out different surprises to their friends and talking at length about what is happening: "It's germs!

A typical scan lasts between 15 and 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being scanned and how many ‘pictures’ are taken. A squidgy gel is put on to your skin, so that a probe (that looks a bit like the hand held scanners you might use in a supermarket) is able to move smoothly across your skin and to ensure that there is continuous contact for the ultrasound waves to pass through. The device’s adhesive layer is made from two thin layers of elastomer that encapsulate a middle layer of solid hydrogel, a mostly water-based material that easily transmits sound waves. The book is written in a mixture of short and compound sentences that are easy for children to read on their own.Katie Daynes (Author) Katie has been writing non-fiction children's books for almost half her life and loves questioning the world from a child's point of view. I bought it for a friend's child, but it was so amusing that I ended going through all of it myself, curiously lifting up each flap one by one!
