I would be concerned for someone who is not stable on their feet to use this mop, the mop will bounce away if it hits something. Resultantly, the electrical resistance potential of the long power cord can result in the cord and plug feeling slightly warm; but not dangerously hot. it is very easy to use and have a similar feeling to using a vacuum cleaner with a slight difference where you would feel a tiny resistance from the rotating disks. Only small complaint, watch out for the cord, if it gets caught in the rotating, it will suck up the cord and keep on spinning and tangle it. We own another steam mop that we seldom use, because it was hard work to get results – the spinning pads on this mop make steaming cleaning fast and easy. Both the amount of steam generated and the rotational speed of the scrubbing pads are controlled by each of the Cleaning Modes, with “Deep” cleaning mode producing the most steam (and consuming water fastest) and using the highest scrubbing speed.
However, there was a distinct, unpleasant odor produced along with the steam, possibly because the unit was new (however it was evidently steam tested at the factory based on the visible condensation on the inside of the transparent front of the water tank). Is the slow and laborious sanitizing process which is specified in the User Manual actually practical when performing routine housecleaning? Even with the integral alignment aid, the scrubbing pads do not center absolutely perfectly, which results in minor oscillation of the mop head while in operation. Even though it is compact and lightweight, I was quite impressed with how effective it is at cleaning and sanitizing hard floors.
