About this deal

Suddenly there are questions to be answered, and if Holt is to find the truth he must delve into his own painful past in this tautly plotted psychological thriller. The complex character throughout the series, David Raker, is charged with the responsibility of investigating the case. Cate was a talented photographer and when Raker visits the Gascoignes’ home with Cate’s sister, Georgia, he discovers that she was working on a new project focusing on the victims of unsolved murders. That’s why it’s our lead book this week but we’ve also got a very clever mystery from Sulari Gentill, a debut for our own Victoria Weisfeld, a classic from 1930s author Alice Campbell, and hardcore psychological thrills care of Jon Bassoff. Anyone who has read The Blackbird, the previous book in Tim Weaver’s series, will know that its finale left David Raker in a precarious place.

Australian author Sulari Gentill offers up a tempting slice of twisty literary crime when The Woman in the Library comes out on 1 June. Just like in other stories in this series, as the investigations continue, Raker finds out many shocking truths of sinister events. Architect of Courage by novelist and Crime Fiction Lover reviewer Victoria Weisfeld comes out on 4 June. There’s anther dogged missing persons investigator as protagonist in Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner. Author Daniel Sweren-Becker must have been well tuned in to the zeitgeist when he conceived Kill Show, his newly published ‘true crime’ novel, as it delves into growing critiques of the genre. The other rereleases are Juggernaut, Water Weed, Spiderweb, The Murder of Caroline Bundy, Desire to Kill, Keep Away From Water! The Blackbird - Penguin Books UK

I found myself eking out my reading time, desperately trying to make the experience last that teeny bit longer. Incredibly well-paced, with menacing, clever twists - Raker is back in this stunning read from one of the masters of the genre. Ten seconds before their car plunged into a 90-foot ravine, Cate and Aiden Gascoigne are recorded on CCTV, laughing and joking and without a care in the world. Biography: Tim Weaver is the Sunday Times bestselling author of thirteen novels, including No One Home, The Blackbird and The Last Goodbye, and a short story collection.

Just like in Chasing The Dead, Megan’s secrets are not to be disclosed, and they can actually cost Raker’s life. Taken on by Cate’s grieving family, these are two questions that Raker is determined to answer, but as his investigation progresses, more and more questions are about to cloud the issue further. In summary, the sinuous plot takes us through toe-curling and fist clenching violence scenes and we feel David Raker go through the normal vicissitudes of life as he grows. Are there any plans to follow up the Blackbird as it leaves the reader in limbo as what’s going to happen now Healy has been discovered and what ramifications for David raker…brilliant collection of books Tim am looking forward to your next one.
