About this deal

The film is based on the book of the same name by Neil Gaiman, and, typical of his writing, is full of wonder and danger, with an unerring sense of the sinister that excites children so much.

Selick has more to say than his compatriot here but this is never the less a good discussion that covers adapting the original novel for the screen, character design, post production work and of course scoring the film. The seemingly innocent pictures on the wall aren’t innocuous background details - they’re hints and clues. Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more.I like to put it down here in the footer so you have an easy place to copy and paste it from when you're writing flattering things about me. Carried over from the previous Blu-ray edition is an audio commentary track courtesy of Henry Selick and composer Bruno Coulais.

The black level is perfectly solid here, like ink, despite being a type of animation that doesn’t use ink. LF effects are few, but when they occur, occur with vigour, the cotton candy cannons, or the prey-mantis tractor, or the collapse of the other world for example. My purchase arrived in top notch condition and was incredibly pleased with the product itself, it was everything I'd hoped a 3D bluray film would be! Americanized and just a bit souped up from the children’s novel by Neil Gaiman, it sets a surly, blue-haired tween heroine (voiced by Dakota Fanning) on a supernatural shuttle between two worlds contained inside her family’s new, and very pink, ramshackle apartment home. is visible during the viewing experience, but the grand technical achievements of the endeavor aren't threatened.Finding the key to said door, Coraline finds a magical way in, and soon finds herself in an alternate universe, complete with clones of her parents, the house, and everything she ever knew, just better. Written and directed by Wong Jing, 1986’s Magic Crystal stars Andy Lau as Andy and Wong Jing himself as Pancho, two freelance special agents that wind up being hired by the Hong. The supernatural element is, however, far darker than one first imagines, with a rather nasty subtext, even if the warning message is clear, and, as a parent, hits home on many levels. I bought this movie in the kind of 3D that requires you to watch it with those Blue/red glasses and to be honest it was awful. Dolby Vision gives a strength and vibrancy to the colours that SD simply cannot compete with, it is bright, with depth and urgency; the blue of Coraline’s hair, the yellow of her jacket, the intensity of the stars jumper she wears and its subsequent glow, the colours of the garden in the other world, the flowers, reds, greens, blues, the iridescence of the tunnel between the two worlds – just magnificent.
