They require a lot of money, large amounts of storage space, a car with roof racks, and the ability to lift and tie the thing onto said roof racks without causing yourself (or other road users) harm.

I do launch off rocky coves all the time and regularly drag them through the sand, which is pretty stupid, but I’ve been lucky in not having any issues. It was a little difficult getting my legs in and out, but that is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. It doesn't feel as stable to paddle though, as the inflated sides are smaller and thinner than many, allowing plenty of side-to-side rocking in waves or with excitable children. As much as we appreciate having a complete setup from the get-go with the Challenger, we quickly discovered how much of a pain the included pump is.Intex kayaks look great and professional regarding design but at a closer look you notice big difference with inflatable kayaks from other manufacturers that cost much more. We now wanted to know for ourselves how is it to paddle the Intex 1-person kayak and can it compete with a good quality inflatable kayak. Each time we are at the lake, we get lots of questions about it - everyone is jealous of our awesome kayak! I go kayaking with my dad who has a fibreglass kayak and can keep up with no problems in terms of speed and moving around, but all kayaks are different in terms of what they’re designed to do.
