There not very much of a difference really, size and weigh are exactly the same, the only difference is the Corsair 4000x has “Corsair Link” and has RBG, even the inside is the same, so really, there is only 2 difference to the cases. Just because you get an idiot support agent doesn't mean the company itself doesn't back it's products. Let’s get to some testing, and regrettably the temperatures for the 4000X RGB model are not fantastic simply because there is that glass side panel blocking airflow.I've been meaning to upgrade my 2014 PC for a while, and finally found the case I was looking for in the 4000x.
A cable cover is present to ensure you can’t peek into the rear of the chassis and see the mess back there. the dual SSD brackets at the back can be moved on top of the power supply shroud if you want to showcase your SSDs. The RGB-LED lighting of the three pre-installed 120 mm AirGuide fans from Corsair on the front can be controlled with the help of the enclosed iCUE Lighting Node CORE. The paint job is quite good though, free of weird defects or bubbling, and with a nice fine top mesh and tempered glass (which you can’t really get wrong unless you over or under-tint), the 4000X and 4000D have a nice premium look and feel to them.The fans themselves are quite good with a max 1,4000 RPM and a pleasant sound profile and 33dB noise level at full blast.
The spacious interior accommodates up to 6x 120mm or 4x 140mm cooling fans, as well as multiple radiators, including 360mm in the front and 280mm in the roof. I have to be honest and say that the new yellow is not my favorite shade, but I like the little touches of colour. What really loses point for me is the tint on the glass is very extreme, as in even with the inside completely lit up inside I can very clearly see my own reflection on the side panel. Let me know what you think of this 4000 series release, I like the new naming scheme, I think will simplify things because the Eclipse-Obsidian- Graphite series lineups from Corsair were getting a bit too complicated. There is an optional vertical PCIe mount with dual slots, but it is fairly close to the side panel and there is no riser cable included.The CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management system makes it effortless to route major cables through a single channel, with 25mm of routing depth.
