About this deal

Much like the album cover, which symbolises the diverse facets and emotions of life, ranging from the sombre to the radiant, the album’s sound, along with its title, Never For Ever, encapsulates the notion that this amalgamation and turbulence are all transient and that nothing endures eternally.

The packaging is lovely, it's now a gatefold digipak, and having the whole album artwork in your hands is much nicer than the much smaller image and black spine of the jewel case, and this adds to the vinyl-like experience. These black and white thoughts, these bats and doves, freeze-framed in flight, swoop into the album and out of your hi-fis.It features the UK Top 20 singles " Breathing", " Army Dreamers" and " Babooshka", the latter being one of Bush's biggest hits. Firstly; it had three pretty big hit Singles to its credit - two of which were her best ever in my opinion, and should really have given Kate Bush at least one Number One; 'Babooshka' and 'Breathing'. Bush was pleased with the results (it depicts a multitude of animals and monsters emerging from under her skirt). After the Show, and when my mother turned up at the house to collect me some time later, my Granny (quite distressed) was full of: 'you should have been here (to my mother) it's been terrible!

She bettered this formula for 1985's Hounds of Love, making that album's "Running Up That Hill" her only Top 40 single in the U. already this is one of my favourite albums of all time after owning it for just a week, Kate is that sort of artist. Violin-continuing with mature sound and with the sythesiser effect on her vocals to create more edge with this song, this shows kate with more of a rocker's edge than any other song she has done.

By extension, the cover art features a striking design that reflects the creative essence of the album and all of its messy yet stunning inclinations. However; the other Single featured on this Album: 'Army Dreamers' I was not so keen on, but I would say on the original vinyl LP that Side Two is probably the stronger one of the two. It was also the first ever album by a British female solo artist to top the UK album chart, as well as being the first album by any female solo artist to enter the chart at no. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Similarly, ‘The Wedding List’ was influenced by François Truffaut’s 1968 film The Bride Wore Black, a revenge film featuring a widow who murders the man who accidentally shot her husband on her wedding day.

The woman featured in his work, ‘Undine in the Wind’, bears a striking resemblance to the figure of Bush depicted on the cover of Never For Ever, right down to the detail of both figures standing on their toes. I purchased this and also The Dreaming (my fave Kate album) and the classic Hounds of Love, as I'm not that keen on her first two albums (and my old vinyl copies sound fine). We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. As a pioneer of theatrics and pyrotechnics, it comes as no surprise that the artwork for many of Kate Bush’s albums evoke that precise level of extraordinary: her debut album demonstrated this beautifully with its depiction of Bush holding onto a large dragon kite, gliding across a vast, all-seeing eye.As Bush explained herself, the image represents “an intricate journey of our emotions: inside gets outside, as we flood people and things with our desires and problems. The range of styles on Never for Ever is much more diverse, veering from the straightforward rocker "Violin" to the wistful waltz of hit single " Army Dreamers". Never for Ever was a pivotal album in Bush’s career, marking her transition into producing her own music, and the cover art reflects the album’s artistic innovation and emotional depth. Two years after her first two releases, Kate Bush took her career into her own hands and produced Never For Ever.
