About this deal

Here's a photo of our little stove, now our pride and joy and much admired by all who see and feel the warmth. Like most things to do with coffee, they are pretty much better in every way, being eco-friendly and burning up to 20% hotter. The Hobbit is perfect - not only does it fit very snugly, but it looks fantastic and the blue door complements the tiles very nicely. Making your own coffee logs can help use up your waste coffee grinds that would otherwise end up in the bin. Join the Bio Bean revolution today, and experience how the power of biology and coffee can guide you to a fitter, healthier you.

Our passion for biology and the power of natural supplements, particularly those derived from coffee, propels us to create pioneering products that can truly make a difference. So if you are looking for a wonderfuel that can heat your home while helping the planet Coffee Logs are the perfect choice. We find Coffee Logs work well as a ‘heat sink’ in the back of the fire, where they give you a very steady, consistent heat. It’s easy to light, very efficient, burns anthracite and stays in overnight (ours has been in for three weeks now). Once you have enough briquettes place them in your wood burner and light your fire as normal and add briquettes as required. It was easy to fit with the help of your excellent ‘how to’ videos and we’re just awaiting our inspection by building control for the certification. Bio-Bean explained that stoves come pretested for compliance with a specific fuel, either generic wood or mineral fuel, such as smokeless ovals etc. We then threw the first coffee log on top of our Firebuilder, and within moments the log was burning nicely. The process starts with the consumer, enjoying a delicious cup of coffee in a coffee outlet – the coffee outlet is collecting the used coffee grounds in special (re-purposed) containers issued to them by their supplier. They contain a lot of energy, when dried and then burnt they produce more heat than traditional fuels such as wood.

To accelerate the airflow I fully opened the air wheel and the new logs were again quick to produce a good flame and ended up producing very little ash.We would recommend using Kiln dried or well seasoned logs on a regular basis but we found the coffee logs to be a nice alternative should you fancy something different. I usually fill the bottom of the pan with a generous amount of molasses, but I ran low for this last batch.

The innovative vision of turning coffee grounds into sustainable fuel didn't just impress coffee lovers and eco-conscious consumers. Paired with a Firemizer and Firebuilder, these little recycled pocket-rockets worked an absolute treat for our eyes and our stove! Another positive environmental aspect of these logs is in mitigating the harmful effects of coffee ground disposal.Coffee Logs reduce waste by reusing coffee grounds that would otherwise be discarded and they avoid the heavy carbon footprint created by coal and other fossil fuels.
